With the parade of Republican nominees stepping onto the stage in Cleveland and using social media to reserve their place at the electoral starting gate, the candidates read as an anthropological study of the Grand Old Party.

From establishment favored moderates like former Florida Governor Jeb Bush to Tea Party favorites like Texas Senator Ted Cruz, the first debate stage in Cleveland will serve as a lesson in the progression of the Republican Party from Eisenhower onward.

¡Yeb! is doing better than I expected. Unfortunately.
Walker wants to arm Ukraine and forward deploy to Eastern Europe. Not sure that’s a good idea.

Carson has done well, Trump has not imho

This article is pointlessly long-winded. Texans vote for the anointed RINO in the GOP presidential primary.

That's because by the time the primary takes place, the nominee has already been picked. That's why the primary should be held on the same day in all 50 states.

Oh, they can win the nomination, they just can not win the presidency....and the GOP never figures that out.

Cruz has had THREE QUESTIONS - Kasich has had 4 or 5!
*********************************
I kept a score on the debate: every question, snarky questions noted; response or non/poor reply to questions.

Cruz = #1. ....Kasich = #10 (last place). Fiorina was #1 in the early debate and Santorem was #7 (last).

All Kasich did was talk about what he’s done in the PAST.

I also rated the moderators. Baer, McCallum, Hemmer, Wallace and (last) Kelly. .....The last three were all snarky and trying to stir up trouble, but Kelly was totally out of line the way she would attack the candidates when setting up the questions.

Completely agree on all you said but....I must have missed Hemmer's snarky comments. I'll admit I was working on dinner and had to check to see that nothing burned, but I know FNC dictated certain questions, like the "raise your hand if you will pledge not to run as an independent if you don't get the nomination!"

Of course, this was a "Trump take out question" for the RNC and Major Donors who demanded Trump not participate in the debate, no surprise there.

I’m sorry to learn that your wife is in the hospital. I hope she gets well and home soon.

You sacrificed watching the debates to visit your wife! It must be long and true love.

The planet where the first one lost the second term because republicans figured out he was not conservative and felt betrayed with his no new taxes pledge breaking and his wife coming out pro-choice and the second one running as a conservative....the same planet that gave us Dole, McCain and Romney losses also.

Seriously, a little history remembering does the trick.

“Seriously, a little history remembering does the trick. “

better see what you write prior to criticizing.

George Bush wont he White House in 1988.

He lost when he violated his pledge not to raise taxes, not because he was from Texas.

It is unfortunate that people like you try to rewrite history. One cannot overcome facts easily.
