the whole idea is that no one in the Republican, party can win the Presidency unless they come from the South, not that the State of Texas supports the ultimate winner of the Presidency.

With a jumble of rule changes for this cycle, Texas was in a perfect situation to play RINO spoiler with a March 15 winner take all primary. Now why do you suppose they stuck with proportional representation in a tangle of other proportional states?
