It is 8-9 months before primary season. I’ll pay attention then.

Rubio is all about building a national donor base so he can go back home to Florida and run for governor with the ability to raise a large war chest quickly. His secondary function is to throw his support to Bush. The risk is Rubio outperforms Bush in the Florida primary itself.
Trump will do well on the west coast of Florida, maybe up around the Cape. Too many people on the southeast coast know him.

That’s not how it works these days. The campaign is on and has been going on for some time now.

I'll take these polls a big more seriously after the debates. Note that I said “more seriously.” I don't totally trust any “poll” other than the vote count on election night.

I wonder what McConnell, et al, have on Rubio. His recent vote, the 60th, will tank him.

I have already made my choice, or should I say ruled out all but one so far.
My problem is that my state gets to primary after all the RINO and open primary states have had a chance to weed out the conservatives. By the time I get to vote I have confidence that my choice will be Jeb, Rubio, or Huckabee. That means I stay home for 2016.

It’s all but over by then.

Give me a break. It was a survey of their own members.

It already is. To paraphrase Eomer: Look for your candidate, but do not trust the hope. It has forsaken these lands...

I could vote for Trump for the same reason I voted for Pete DuPont back when he ran- neither of them could be bought.

a survey of the membership of Citizens United, not a public opinion poll

What was the range of dates of the poll?

FWIW, 16 years ago, before GWB's total financial dominance made his nomination unstoppable, Steven Forbes and Dan Quayle were serious candidates. Let the pundits whine about alternate spellings of potato all they want, Quayle was a heck of a statesman as VP.
Think how different the world would be today if we had eight years of Forbes/Quayle or Quayle/Forbes.
