well, this is an easy one. the marxists don’t want it to be a write off because the ones they want to go to school (minorities, immigrants, socialist leaning population), don’t have earned income to write it off against.
To: FlingWingFlyer
exactly, we need an income tax surcharge on foreigners
lol

I agree, but only if you pay for it without government assistance. :-)

That’s my money you’re so generous with, Senator Commie. Why not be a man and try to take it out of my pocket yourself? You frigging thieves are going to Hell.
To: 2ndDivisionVet
Hey, Rand, is this retroactive for my now thirty-something kids?

Rather than “write-offs” let's completely abolish the IRS and the income tax.
FAIR TAX for all! ( Yeah! I am shouting.)

College tuition was already tax deductable up to $4000 if I recall correctly. The deduction was good no matter what classes you were taking.

I’d abolish property taxes before anything else.

I was thinking the same thing, Rand Paul is big government Libertarian who uses government hand outs to buy votes. It seems that Rand Paul confuses small government with weak government.
