Paul Wins CPAC Straw Poll; Cruz Finishes Third

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky won the Conservative Political Action Conference straw poll Saturday, his third victory in as many years.

This year he carried 26 percent of the vote. U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz placed third, with 11.5 percent, while former Gov. Rick Perry came in eleventh, with 1.1 percent.

Both Paul and Cruz openly campaigned at the event. Cruz volunteers distributed custom-made buttons that said "Cruz Crew." Perry had a smaller get-out-the-vote operation at the conference.

The contest comes after three days of speeches from presidential contenders and noteworthy conservative activists. On Thursday, Cruz touted his battles within the GOP, while Perry attacked President Obama on foreign policy.

Ho hummmmm...... yawn..... What a surprise! The Paul-bots pull off their 50th Straw Poll Victory in the last 8 years. They know how to beat the system. Curly-Q boy will NEVER be President of the United States. I have as had a time forgiving him for endorsing Mitch McConnell in 2014 as most FReepers have forgiving Marco Rubio for his Immigration debacle. Screw you Rand Paul.

Cruz is for letting the states legalize pot if they choose.

So freakin’ what? I’m not a Libertarian and I don’t smoke weed. I was an adult before I even knew what the crap smelled like. But, we’ve legalized alcohol and cigarettes and both of them kill more people annually than pot ever will. So.... whassup? Legalize the crap, package it like cigarettes and let each State tax the hell out of it.

You heard it here first: There will be no more black presidents or vice presidents for at least a generation. Mr. Obama has fouled that nest.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________-

That’s not the first I’ve heard it. I’ve heard people for the last two years say: “I’ll never vote for a Black man for President again.” Even posted that here on FR a couple of times. BHO has ruined the chances for Blacks politically in America for quite a long while. So, let Hillary pick Cory Booker for her VEEP..... I’d love to see him drag her down to defeat.

Cruz’ speech occurred on Thursday for some reason, which may have been a disadvantage with respect to the poll, which was today.

Perry came in eleventh...... with a measly 1.1 percent.

His televised interview was the only thing I could tolerate.....and even that was barely tolerable.

He has this scared look of desperation about him---he knows he's at a dead-end politically.

Its the only thing he knows how to do and he's getting nowhere.....fast.
