It logically by evolutionary criteria couldn't have happened at the exact same time.
To "evolve", you need to have "superior" genes that get passed on by sexual reproduction.
Asexual reproduction works by simply having one worm turn into two of the same type worm.
They have the same genetics, so they wouldn't be any "better" than the original worm.
Extra genes had to be introduced at some point for them to become more complex.
HOW would that happen?
