Early Friday evening Sen. Elizabeth Warren took to the Senate floor and gave a plain-spoken, barn-burning speech that could make history and put her into serious contention to be the next President of the United States.
There are only a handful of political speeches that have such historic impact. Barack Obama's keynote speech at the 2004 Democratic Convention comes readily to mind. It's what catapulted an obscure Illinois state Senator into the national limelight and put him on the path to becoming President.
Warren's Senate speech was different, but just as electrifying.
Obama's rhetoric was lofty, high-minded, and general, with a feel-good unifying message that there's no blue America or red America but only the United States of America.
Warren's rhetoric is more down to earth, substantive, and frankly, angrier, unafraid of calling out by name the institutions--the big banks and Citigroup in particular--which tanked the economy, cost millions of Americans their jobs and homes, were bailed out with half a trillion dollars of taxpayer money, and then used their fortunes to buy Congress and make it more likely they'll be bailed out again. Moreover, she was unafraid to take on the President of her own party, and the numerous members of his administration drawn from Citigroup and other big banks through the endless revolving door between Washington and Wall Street.
Here's the heart of Warren's speech:
Democrats don't like Wall Street bailouts. Republicans don't like Wall Street bailouts. The American people are disgusted by Wall Street bailouts
And yet here we are, five years after Dodd-Frank with Congress on the verge of ramming through a provision that would do nothing for the middle class, do nothing for community banks, do nothing but raise the risk that taxpayers will have to bail out the biggest banks once again...

It won’t make her president if the Republicans run a STRONG CONSERVATIVE, but it might, finally, send Hillary to the Rocking Chair, and THANK GOD for that.
Waiting for Hillary’s “me too” speech wherein she condemns the malefactors of great wealth - and collects $300K from them for making the speech.
One of my all time favorite political speeches was given in Detroit in 1980. Any conservative who runs should study it closely.

Just what the USA needs: a Communist female dingbat following a Communist male dingbat!
The left doubling down on failure.
Elizabeth embodies all of the color, flavor, variety, interest and innovation of a Michelle Obama school lunch.
The Huffingpaint Post. Nuff said.
Warren will need to commit fairly soon if she’s going to run.
Obviously it will take big $$ to compete with the Clinton Crime Family thru the long primary/caucus run.
I’ve read that a lot of the major Dem donors are on the sidelines now, but will tend toward the Clintons eventually unless somebody gives them a good reason to go elsewhere.
Seeing MoveOn jump on the Warren bandwagon this week indicates to me she is pretty serious about it.
Hurl-inducing number of freepers running around singing Fauxcahontas’ and other RATS praise the last few days. Not you two! Some new people who were particularly obnoxious in the last election.
So if Rush tries another Operation Chaos, who will be the target in 2016?
The thing that concerns me is that sHrillary will correctly see the writing on the wall and withdraw early, before the two shrews have suitably bludgeoned one another.
Of course that’s all before we get to see the “Can’t hit a girl” bullspit from the pubbie nominee ;’)
If the paleface squaw is elected president, it won’t be because of any speech she made. It will be because Barry and his ‘RATS flooded America with a bunch of third world freeloaders looking for a free ride on the backs of hardworking American taxpayers.
However, FRiends, it was a brilliant piece of political theater. It puts Fauxcahontas and Cruz on the same damn page, which does her a hell of a lot more good than it does him. Of course HER speech is the one the MSM will cover.
I can already "feel" all those female voters of the more respectable classes out there starting to get warm flashes for Lizzie the Indian Millionairess.
In fact, in the short term, I hope these Loonie Lefters who think Barry isn't radical enough, join Cruz et al to stop this monstrosity.
“1/64th demon sheep”
Just when you wince and start to squeeze the trigger you read this...
Thanks for the hearty laugh. I’m good now.
read the comments...even the huffington post lemmings are laughing at the article...
Her huge ego says "it's my time"
and the consultants are saying "this could easily be a 2008 repeat"
Of course if Dems deadlock, there's always this former VP candidate waiting in the wings to be drafted:
Saw many reports this week that Obama operatives are pushing Fauxcahontas over HRC.
