Mitt Romney loyalists are trying to gin up the narrative that Republicans just can't get enough of Romney.
Democrats dont want to be associated with Barack Obama right now, but Republicans are dying to be associated with Mitt Romney, Spencer Zwick, "a longtime Romney confidant who chaired his national finance council," claimed to the Washington Post. The Chamber of Commerce, which has vowed to wage war on the Tea Party and push through amnesty legislation, glowingly praised Romney, alleging he would be in a "commanding position" if he entered the 2016 race.
Romney is reportedly set to make trips to West Virginia, North Carolina, Arkansas, Colorado, and Virginia to campaign for Republicans. Yet besides the media, most of the people clamoring for another Romney "comeback" are his loyalists and closest advisers, who defied all statistical models to lose an election many thought should never have been lost.
In a July article for Politico Magazine, Emil Henry, who "served in multiple roles in the 2012 campaign, including adviser to the economic team, television surrogate and fundraiser," laughingly alleged that "Romney is re-emerging as the de facto leader of the Republican Party."

I honestly can’t figure out why any sane person would want Obama in office over the republican.
You and some of the other main characters here wanted and got just that. Obama in office.
Why? What did you see in Obama that made you want him to win the election?
I’ve stated many times (and please, please go back through the posting history)....my candidate during the primaries was Rick Santorum. He’s not conservative, either, right? Santorum has been attacked on this so called premiere conservative website relentlessly. Just the way you and others will attack whoever the republican nominee will be in 2016. You’ll use foul language and name calling, claiming that who ever that republican candidate is, why they’re HORRIBLE and just elect the democrat. It’s better that Obama won, isn’t that your take on things?
Why ANY sane person wanted Obama to win that election is beyond me.....but then, if the republican won, you and the others here couldn’t be ‘victims’ and go on your foul mouthed, name calling tirades now, could you?
Don’t worry, foul mouthed name callers travel in packs. Soon, one will come to your defense. Maybe you can paste another tirade about how horrible a republican is. By the way, do you have bookmarked little replies on the damage Obama has done? OR, is that off limits to the foul mouthed name callers?
The Republican Party keeps nominating losers for President, it isn’t the fault of the people if they choose not to support that fool. It is the job of the candidate and party to attract those votes. Designated Losers don’t care to do that.
Sane people realize that a presidential election is between the candidates of the two parties, republican and democrat. during the primary process, by ALL means, duke it out, call each other names, threaten each other, do whatever you want to do. But, you need to face facts. SOMEONE’S candidate is going to lose the republican nomination. So, you’ll pout and stomp your feet and say I’M NOT VOTING FOR THAT REPUBLICAN! Now, what does that mean? Sane people realize that the democrat wins that way. You can choose to pout and continue to be the victim......and oh I realize you’ll fit in better with the name calling, foul mouthed main characters here....but is your family better off with Obama as president? Really?
I vote for conservatives, since I am not a member of any party. The GOP nominated the absolute worst candidate possible. I have no duty to give my vote to that crappy guy, I would not be able to live with myself.
It really does not matter what letter is next to their name if they are someone I will never vote for, then I will never vote for them.
So, tell me, who are you going to work for in 2016? Who’s your favorite? How on earth will you convince all of the foul mouthed name callers here to vote for your candidate? Or, don’t you believe in even working for your candidate? It’s easier, isn’t it......to just claim that the nominee wasn’t good enough for you and have a temper tantrum.
So, who were you working so hard for in 2012? Did you talk about all of the things your candidate stood for and would do? Did you defend your candidate when one of the foul mouthed name calling main characters here claimed he (or God forbid, she) wasn’t conservative enough? How did you handle that? Or, did you just find people who were supporting the republican nominee and start to attack them instead of supporting your own candidate?
You are a miserable liar.
Rather than deal with the news, the issues,
the threads, the facts, YOU falsely attack FReepers.
Given your REPEATED, corrected-but-ignored, comments,
hopefully, you will take your venom elsewhere
far from FR.
Immediately after the 2008 election I wanted Mike Pence to take it to the left. He was pretty quiet on a national level though and likely missed his chance.
to just claim that the nominee wasnt good enough for you and have a temper tantrum.
A majority of freepers were saying NO WAY to Romney long before the first primary took place.
The Republicrat Uniparty doesn't excite me. Very few politicians are worth the brains God gave a housefly.
Ok, fair enough. You like Ted Cruz. If he doesn’t win the nomination IF he runs, then what? Will you refuse to vote in the general election? What if Rick Perry (my choice at this point) runs and wins the nomination?
I’ve been called so many names by people here......all because AFTER the nomination process ended, I stated without doubt that I’m voting for Romney over Obama. Oh, I realize that so many of the main characters here didn’t like Romney and not only didn’t work for THEIR candidate (whoever that was), but viciously attacked anyone who dared to suggest that it was sorta ridiculous to “sit out” the election as some kind of protest. The democrats win EVERY time that happens. Every time.
I’m not attacking anyone.
The facts are quite simple.
1. There was a republican primary process in 2008.
2. There was a republican primary process in 2012.
3. John McCain was the presidential nominee in 2008
4. Mitt Romney was the presidential nominee in 2012
Now, here’s where it gets really sad.
Many of the main characters here attacked those who *DID* claim support for the republican nominee over Barack Hussein Obama. Did you claim that it would be better if Obama won and was re-elected in 2012? Or, did you just call people names?
So what? Harold Stassen's loyalists had him running no fewer than twelve times. Mitt may be perennial candidate material but Presidential, no.
I have a lot of problems with Rick Perry.
Transnational corridor, Guardasil, illegal aliens... he called me “heartless”... cameras on the border. He sure talks conservative sometimes but he is really mostly show.
That would depend on the nominee. If the person is even more conservative than not (abortion and a few other things are not negotiable) I could grudgingly vote for them.
Someone who pretends to be 180 degrees different than they have shown themselves to be in office, like liberal Romney... then the answer is "I'd rather sleep in"
Notice the two people being quoted for this piece, Spencer Zwick and Emil Henry, are both mormon.
They are pushing mormon Romney!

-most of the people clamoring for another Romney “comeback”
Mormons pushing mormon and lying in the process. That’s what they do.
The GOPe has your check ready.
The MOuntain Meadow way? Like you?
Romney, working FOR Obama in 2008
The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"Im told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palins people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romneys former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.
"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off .hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."
"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"
"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"
"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"
"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"
"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"
So, according to one of the main characters here on the premiere conservative website, John McCain lost the 2008 Presidential election because of Mitt Romney?
You need not worry about Mitt Romney for 2016. Hopefully, Rick Perry or Ted Cruz will be the candidate.
Do you already have bookmarks of attack posts ready for them, too? Or, will you do the right thing and get behind the candidate?
OR, will you, as I’m beginning to suspect, just keep on your Mitt Romney is responsible for everything tirades?
Yes. McCain and Palin were ahead, so
Romney sent his attack surrogates
(trained on Sen.Thompson) against them.
They were later sent against Mr. Cain and the Speaker.
We presume you were one. Were you paid much?
Its funny how you avoid any talk of who YOUR candidate was or will be.
Will you get behind Rick Perry or Ted Cruz? Or, will you just continue with name calling and shrill attacks?
You dont want the democrats to lose, do you?
I'll speak for myself, Mom. When 2016 rolls around, my vote will be reserved for a conservative candidate. Not Republican---conservative. Do you understand the difference?
I will never again cast a vote for a liberal with an R behind his name. I refuse to lend support to anyone who supports amnesty, abortion, queers, or any other leftwing causes.
Why do you think that a liberal with an R behind his name is any improvement over one with a D? Why would you be willing to lend support to such anti-God, anti-American policies?
Have you no principles at all?
