At least one House Republican thinks Mitt Romney will make another run for the White House in 2016 and this time, he says the 2012 runner-up will emerge victorious.
I think he actually is gonna run for president. He probably doesnt want me to say that, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) told host Chris Matthews on MSNBCs Hardball on Monday. Chaffetz also backed the former Massachusetts governor early in the GOP nomination process for 2012.
A hundred times he says hes not, but Mitt Romney has always accomplished what hes set out to do. I think hes proven right on a lot of stuff. I happen to be in the camp that thinks hes actually going to run and I think he will be the next president of the United States, he said.
Romney has been the focus of much recent speculation regarding a possible run, but he has repeatedly brushed it aside. Yet, the former governor has weighed in on the political world this year, from endorsing Senate candidate Scott Brown to admonishing the White House for its handling of the rapidly deteriorating situation in Iraq and the surrounding region.

Those Mormons stick up for each other.
The Mormon unity thing just gets creepy at times. No, Mitty will not run again, and nor will anyone else who ran in 2012.
Mittens probably could win, but only because the RNC is in his pocket and the public will probably be tired of Democrats to such a degree that even someone who doesn’t want to win, can win.
The problem will be that Mittens is basically the white version of Obozo on healthcare and most other issues. The only improvement may be that he might take a tougher line on the Russkies, but he will probably go about it as incompetently as anyone in Washington.
Therefore, if we don’t keep Mittens from winning the nomination, we’ll just get a third term of Obama, but with the difference being that there will be less opposition from the Right. I predict the Demos would get more accomplished in such an environment than they are doing now.
Really stupid, Jason C., REALLY STUPID!
Romneycare Romney is further to the Left, today than ANY Democrat of the 1950’s!
No true conservative will ever win again - bank on it .
How exactly does he plan to win? Who will vote for him, who did not vote for him last time?
He had his best chance last time.
He LOST.
Stay out of the way, Mitt.
“He probably doesnt want me to say that, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) told host Chris Matthews...”
Sure Jason, whatever you say.
He’ll do it without me...again.
I would rather stay home and polish the plasticware than vote for Mittens
And no, I won't bank on it. I intend to keep fighting to destroy liberal republicans so that conservatives have a chance.

Forget it. He had his chance and lost.
Romney? The scumbag who helped facillitate homo-marriage in his home-state, and whose operatives set about backstabbing Palin before the ‘08 election had even ended? The guy whose convention not only kept Palin out, but outlawed the very terms “tea party” from being uttered?
Yeah, that’s right. The very first GOP candidate running for any office, big or small, in my entire voting life, to ‘not’ get my vote. Sure, run him again in 2016, so I can leave my ballot blank again!
William Jennings Romney
He won’t get my vote. He could have used his failed RomneyCare to attack Obamacare and use it as an example of why central management cannot provide healthcare.
Instead, he laid low and kept quiet.
He’s a RINO.
And a Republican will only win if TPTB determine that “the” collapse will happen after 2016, because they want to be able to pin that on a Republican, so that capitalism, the free-market, and America in general will be condemned by association (even though the GOPe represents none of those American values).
Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah)
Can anyone primary this IDIOT?
