Now that primary season is almost over, some establishment Republicans are looking for retribution
Ted Cruz has not made himself a popular man in Washington, D.C. The Texas Republican would argue thats the point. But even for a Senatoran elected office with the backing of an entire stateticking off powerful people can have consequences.
In his first two years in Washington, Cruz has managed to help force a government shutdown, undermine the GOPs chances of taking over the Senate and force uncomfortable votes for his fellow Republicans. Not to mention the verbal bombs he lobs on a regular basis, many aimed at his own party. His colleagues, aware of the threats they face from primary challengers, have mostly held their tongues and their fire so far. But Cruz has already done some damage without much trying. A week after his election to the Senate in 2012, Cruz was named vice chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which works to elect Republicans to the Senate. But he subsequently refused to endorse incumbent senators, or help them in their races, a fact that many Tea Party insurgents have seized upon. He hasnt set foot in the NRSC in more than a year, sources say.
They tried to channel him to be somewhat productive. They tried that with NRSC, says John Feehery, a former longtime GOP Hill aide. Lyndon Johnson once said hed rather have people inside the tent pissing out. But [Cruz] seems to be inside the tent pissing in.(continued)

That’s all true, but Time - like all the Jurassic media outlets - want to stir it up as much as possible.

What bothers me is how authentic and insider this article is, it is describing an authentic and advanced party goal to kill off Senator Cruz, no matter what the cost is, they see the risk of him and his conservatism as fatal to their interests.
I want to see liberal republicans politically destroyed.

Time is that skinny little pamphlet that old people still read and libraries waste their money on. They are a relic of the days when people believed the garbage cranked out by the Leftist media.
I agree with all of that - but these articles that quote these little consultant lobbying vermin and make them out to be real power brokers .these are all bs articles.
Before the Tea Party formed, the Senate was 60-40 Democrats and Pelosi had a large majority. Yep, those DC douchebags in the GOP sure know how to win.
All I had to do was look at the source “Time” and I could predict more than 90% of what would be said.
First of all, the author of this piece of crap article....I’m leery of any author for a liberal publication, but even more so when a male has a hyphenated last name.
Second, Ted Cruz did not “force” the government shutdown. The GOP senators were burning the midnight oil trying to arrange a deal, but Obama, Harry Reid and the rest of the dems were nowhere to be found.
Also, 83% of the government was still open during the so-called shutdown.
Another thing, it wasn’t Ted Cruz who was blocking the World War II vets from entering their open-air memorial in Washington...it was Obama and his barry-cades.
If the GOPe is stupid enough to dismiss Ted Cruz, they will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory this November.
Also found this article, which I believe is by the same author:
http://swampland.time.com/2011/05/26/sarah-palin-announces-a-revolutionary-road-trip/
The photo on that article, is pretty much a textbook photo for Sarah Palin. I do not believe the author is a flaming liberal crackpot.
Just saying.
That's her on the right. The red head is Dennis Kucinich's daughter. The man is... Pajama Boy?
I don’t know, I’ve no previous experience with this reporter and I could be all wrong.
But here’s another Palin link:

I’m not willing to discount anything she writes.
She could have an agenda, but I don’t see it flaming off the pages anyway.
vaudine
I very much doubt Cruz is scared. He’s about to be backed up by Chris McDaniel, Ben Sasse, and T.W. Shannon, plus possibly one of the SC candidates and Milton Wolf if its a good day. He also just got a MASSIVE blowout reception in Texas.
The man has now fear of the orcs from Mordor on the Potomac!
CRUZ CONTROL!
They keep saying we should all get along, but the RINO’s have no intention of getting along with conservatives
Yup.
She appears to be a balanced source of news.
Sounds like she spend three months covering Palin in 2010 I believe it was.
She seems to have been involved in this Time Magazine cover of Palin, or at least the supporting story.
Just saying. I think she’s on our side, to the extent someone from Time can be.
Jim DeMint calls it exactly how it is. Start going after out guy, Mitch, and we will DESTROY YOU, even if it means getting a Democrap elected in Kentucky.
By all means, be the Chamber of Commerce Party, but without we the voters, you’re just a party with lots of money and nowhere to go.
As someone who understood what 0bama was and pushed people to stop him even at the cost of voting for a RINO, I’m coming to see the next election as largely irrelevant. 0bama was a deathblow to America, so we’re really just fighting over who presides at the funeral. Doesn’t much matter anymore, IMO. There’s the Supreme Court, but we’re sliding into a post-Constitutional phase anyway. I suppose it could get interesting if the citizens join their “public servants” in casting the law aside.
And they are arrogant enough to think that their shrewd strategy of offering a pale shade of liberalism is what won in 2010.
