In 2010, Sarah Palin endorsed Rand Paul for U.S. Senate in Kentucky. Most other reliable Republican hawks Dick Cheney, Rudy Giuliani, Rick Santorum endorsed his primary opponent.
Three years later, when Chris Christie criticized Pauls stand on warrantless surveillance, Palin endorsed him again. Im on Team Rand, she said. Rand Paul understands, he gets the whole notion of Dont tread on me, government, whereas Chris Christie is for big government and, you know, trying to go along to get along in so many respects.
In a North Carolina congressional primary, however, Sarah Palin is on the side of the hawks. Palin endorsed Taylor Griffin, a former George W. Bush aide running against Walter Jones, a 10-term incumbent who has emerged as one of the strongest anti-war Republicans in Congress.
In Washington, we need you to stay true to your beliefs of smaller government, protecting life and furthering conservative principles, Palin wrote to Griffin in a statement that doesnt mention foreign policy or civil liberties. Neither does she ever mention Jones.
Palins endorsement against Jones comes on the heels of an NRA speech in which she said, [W]aterboarding is how we baptize terrorists.
The former Alaska governors sacrilegious defense of torture has already been dissected endlessly. The American Conservatives Rod Dreher complained that Palin makes Archie Bunker sound like Cicero.
She was John McCains running mate, after all. (Though McCain disagrees with her about waterboarding.)
More interesting is how someone can move seamlessly from Team Rand to Team Bush depending on the circumstances. Palin is representative of large swathes of the Republican base....

Ping.
I thought she was yesterday’s newspaper, all washed-up, over her 15 minutes of fame, no longer relevant, etc., etc. and now this guy says you have to win the Sarah Palin primary? My head hurts.
...”Palin is representative of large swathes of the Republican base”.....
That needs to be understood by many who thinks she always needs to remain in a box of who she supports.
I think Sarah is often privy to things we are not and makes decisions about who she will support based on more of the facts, and the trajectory of where elections will likely go, then we have access to or about....
As I see it she currently works with and among those I favor most for candidates in the Pres. election, and for that I will trust her judgement even if I might not agree.
In the end we all will decide for ourselves...but currently, and in the past, she has been good for the grass roots folks of which I am one.
All along the establishment watchtower: “It’s 2am! Sarah Palin is still irrelevant!” Whistling past their own graveyard methinks.
Sarah is just Wrong on this one...to bad. Have to reconsider her previous endorsements. Griffin is nothing but a DC insider, who moved to this district in order to run against Jones.
“See Orin Hatch”?
Please, please anything but see O. Hatch.... “just a minute there”.
In short, I don't see why Palin or anyone else can't pick and choose candidates based on what she sees as their particular strength.
Sarah irrelevancy has been extended so far that we must talk endless about how she Drinks Strawberry Milk. And I don't like Strawberry milk therefore she can't be on Team So and So.
I wish people were half as upset over John Kerry's Comments calling Israel an Apartheid State as they are about some DerkaDerkastani getting water boarded.
Although I must I do disagree with the whole Guantanamo thing. That whole issue is twisted.
K.S.M et al are some of the most Evil People imaginable.
Most of them should have been lined against a wall and had a gun put in their mouths years ago.
(That is what SHOULD have happened at Nuremberg too. Bad Historical Precedent)
It’s a mystery to me why Sarah hasn’t taken this opportunity to help us dispose of McConnell, here in Kentucky, by endorsing Matt Bevin. Sarah surely doesn’t approve of the job McConnell’s done, does she? Just wondering...
A real shayna madel.
Yep. Sarah - aka Ms Irrelevant - has them all (lefties and RINO’s) running in circles, and falling all over each other just trying to be the next one out with an article about her.
Where Sarah goes, (evidently) EVERYONE follows ;)
Gov. Palin is so irrelevant the libtards can’t stop talking about her.
They are gearing up their attacks on her because election time is getting close and they are afraid she might decide to run for potus so they get started on her early. LOL!
Make that 3 of us!!
