Sarah Palin is known to say that America is governed by a permanent political class, and recent comments by former first lady Barbara Bush about how she views former President Bill Clinton lends credence to that point of view.
Before Bushs recent health issues, she sat down for an interview with C-SPAN, part of a series of profiles on Americas first ladies, Investors Business Daily reported.
In a candid conversation, Mrs. Bush reveals the bond of friendship that has formed between former President George H.W. Bush, herself and Clinton, whom she said visits every summer.
While noting that they do not agree politically, Mrs. Bush seems to almost excuse some of Clintons more questionable behavior by stressing that his father was not around.
I think that he thinks of George a little bit like the father he didnt have, she said. And hes very loving to him and I really appreciate that.(continue)

It was obvious a long time ago that the Bushes were very liberal. They did go along with conservatives when it was to their advantage.
It was more than clear that they seemed to suck up to the liberals and save the poison for conservatives. No doubt at all they were Yankee elitists.

Nope, not wrong. The Mena/Clinton/Bush ‘partnership’ has been WELL known about for years. (It has been written of many times, the best I have seen/read is: ‘Compromised. Clinton, Bush and the CIA’. Written by Terry Reed and John Cummings, Pub. 1995, it is about 650 well documented and researched pages). Oliver North played a part of their operation. The Iran/Contra story also played a part in the Mena cocaine dealings. Again, this is no secret whatsoever, the Mena story has been ‘out there’ for years.

Good point. But I’d bet Barbara thinks Hitlery is a bitch.

Lets see now, DU and the Dems hate the Bush's, you and fellow so called conservatives hate the Bush's, so who are we to believe?
Like I posted earlier, we're eatin' our own as evidenced by the mass banning of FReepers during the 2008 Romney purge........
Now that was really productive and benefical......
I've said it before and I'll say it again, if Jesus were to return and run for the GOP primary, He'd likely be excoriated for contributing to the welfare state by providing free bread and wine to the masses...........
You want perfection in a candidate? Well sorry to burst your bubble bro but you ain't gonna get perfection from any candidate and the sooner you and the other political holly rollers get that into your heads the more likely we might win the next election........
Now lets turn your attention to the Democrat party, shall we? Do you see them as fragmented towards their candidates as the GOP is?

Apparently there’s a real low-class side to those button-down New England WASP Bushes. Anyone with an ounce of self-respect wouldn’t be caught dead within a mile of that serial rapist.

We don't expect perfect.
Some us vote for limited government.
If the available candidate favors big government s/he doesn't get our vote anymore.
We realize this is a long-term proposition that will involve pain. We also know the tipping point has been passed and the pain is going to happen anyway. We can do the math, this isn't about emotion.
The track record of appeaser Republican presidential candidates is lousy anyway.

No, because their political leaders are not actively working against their base.
But you keep ignoring that little fact, why is that?

No you have lots of company. I have no idea why some have idealized this meddlesome woman. She is ill informed, rather strange, and her primary characteristic seems to be opinionated bullheadedness. Altogether an ordinary and mediocre excuse for a matriarch.

Lets see now, DU and the Dems hate the Bush's, you and fellow so called conservatives hate the Bush's, so who are we to believe?
You're really stacking up the fallacies in that one statement, aren't you?!
1. We don't hate Bush, we hated his policies. That would include TARP, Amnesty, No Limited Government, etc.
2. We loved Bushes Pro-Life policies.
3. There is nothing "so-called" about the conservative principles of Freepers who detested the non-conservative policies of Bush and the Progressive policies of the so-called "Leaders" of the GOP today.
You load up a bunch of falsehoods and straw-men to try and make the false conclusion that you cannot believe those of us who have repeatedly supported our contention about the lack of fidelity to conservative principle by the "so-called" GOP Leadership.

We're not eating our own, we are demanding that our party actually honor their own policy statements, their own declarations of being conservatives and that their actions match their words.
We are honestly declaring where they have not honored their promises and declarations by their actions.
Sorry, we've been manipulated and abused for the last time. There will be no more "battered-wife" syndrome being played out by the base anymore.
Either the GOP-E quits being traitors to their base, or they get no more support, of any form, from the base. br>
That is what we are pushing for.
Results.

Where do you get the idea that the dems hate the Bushes? The dem voters, yes. But only because they’re told to hate them. The dem “leaders” love the Bushes. And Barbara just stated that her and her liberal husband love Clinton.

I once knew a retired Arkansas State Policeman. I asked him about all the stories about Clinton. His response was “Everything you hear about Clinton is true.”
