If there’s one off-the-cuff remark that will follow Chris Matthews for the rest of his career as a pundit, it has to be the time in 2008 when he said, in reference to a speech by then-candidate Barack Obama, “I felt this thrill going up my leg.” It’s the one line for which conservatives love to make fun of him most, and he knows it.
During a Wednesday evening debate over divisions within the Republican Party, Matthews chose to voluntarily reference the infamous quote and defend the sentiment behind it. Republican strategist Steve Schmidt was denouncing the current state of the GOP, which he said is not defined by “who’s the most nutty person yelling the loudest, the craziest things in the room at any given time” when Matthews stopped him to ask a question.
“Don’t you regret that you solemnized the marriage between the responsible Republican Party of John McCain and Sarah Palin?” Matthews asked. As one of John McCain’s lead advisers in 2008, Schmidt was integral in the decision to bring Sarah Palin on as the vice presidential candidate.
“At least I got my thrill up my leg from Obama,” Matthews continued. “You got it from Sarah Palin.” He couldn’t get through that last part without laughing.
“I think mine went away faster,” Schmidt replied.

Steve Schmidt, who takes the term “Horse ass” to a whole new level. You what you know why Schmidt hates Palin so much, because she refused to fully endorse his butt buddy Mitt Romney, who Sarah knows was the reason why Schmidt and Wallace TANKED, yes TANKED the 2008 election so that Romney would be the first choice in 2012..Sarah knew it, and most of us know it..he needed a scapegoat because we all know he wasnt going to go on TV and say “Yeah we tanked it on purpose” he needed someone hated by the media so he thought by blaming her it would take the focus off of him..Schmidt hates Conservatives, he uses Palin as his punching bag..all you need to know about Schmidt is just look at him, he looks miserable because he IS a miserable sack of crap..now look at Sarah Palin, she is happy, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, book author, tv host, she has everything and Schmidt and the rest of these left wing dip sh*ts have NOTHING

Schmidt is neither a Republican nor a strategist. The last campaign he was involved with was the disastrous McCain campaign in 2008. He ran an incompetent campaign and back stabbed Sarah Palin. First, he anonymously and cowardly attacked her during the campaign. Then he made up lies about her after the campaign. Even McCain has all but said he is a liar.
He is also a strong supporter of gay rights. I can see him talking to Matthews about getting thrills up there legs.
He really hates being called “Tingles.” Or even being misquoted as saying “...a tingle up my leg.”

Pretty much knew Chrissie was one and really suspected Schmidt after his backstabbing of Palin.
Mac daddy gives him a thrill but it’s not up his leg while he is on his knees.
