You are right about that. If a state wanted to implement a system like this then fine, do so. I may not like it but I could move. When the law becomes national that move becomes more problematic.
The issue with Obamacare is that it is a bad law - even if it worked it would still be a bad law. This is a difficult argument to make to leftist at times but I feel I must try at least occasionally to do so. People should not be against the law because it is implemented poorly; they should be against it because it is intrusive, violates the right of association, is a power not specifically vested in the Federal government and thus a state issue, it seems to me it potentially violates the interstate commerce clause, is a tax bill that did not originate in the house and probably several other issues that I am leaving out. The fact that it does not work is almost beside the point though is helpful in getting rid of the law.
