The Ghost of Mitt Romney Returns
Yahoo! News / The Atlantic Wire ^ | November 3, 2013 | Connor Simpson

Posted on 11/03/2013 2:44:24 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney returned to the Sunday shows almost exactly one year since he lost the election to Barack Obama, only to attack the President and call his second term into question. The former Republican politician wasted no time attacking the President over his rocky Obamacare roll out during his appearance on NBC's Meet the Press. "The president failed to learn the lessons that came from the experience in Massachusetts," Romney said, repeating that he thinks a state-by-state healthcare plan would work better.

Romney then launched into a greater attack on the President's "you can keep your insurance" controversy. "Perhaps the most important lesson the president, I think, failed to learn was, you have to tell the American people the truth," he said. "And when he told the American people that you could keep your health insurance if you wanted to keep that plan, period, he said that time and again, he wasn't telling the truth. And I think that fundamental dishonesty has really put in peril the whole foundation of his second term." Romney thinks the guy elected to lead the country instead of him is no longer fit to lead. "The fact that the president sold it on a basis that was not true has undermined the foundation of his second term. I think it's rotting it away," Romney said. "We've got to have a president that can lead, and right now he's not able to do so." The former Massachusetts governor also praised Chris Christie.....

Oh I did too….for all of Mitt’s many many faults…I don’t think he had any interest in doing Obamacare for the entire nation. For all the talk about the “similarities” - there are many more differences. Going from one tiny somewhat homogenous state to a massive country can not be translated in any similar manner whatsoever….

It translates very well, actually. It speaks to his character, or in mitt's case, the lack thereof. Let's be very clear about what mitt did with his individual health insurance mandate. He may as well have gotton on tv with all of those insurance executives behind him and said "See these men behind me who contributed to my election campaign...? You will give them lots of your money for anproduct you probably don't want. If you don't pack up your family and leave, I will use the taxing and police power of my government to take that money from you. If you hide your assets and still refuse to pay, I will send armed men to take you from your home and put you in a cage. If you resist them doing this to you, they are allowed to kill you." That is the kind of man mitt romney is. Saying it's cool because he did it on a state level doesn't fly. He abused every inch of authority within the office he held. Just like the current occupant of the white house and just like he would have done had he won the political reality show last year.

Again, you are so obsessed with your hatred of Mitt that you cannot put him aside and talk about reality. Nothing you say changes the following:
Mitt gave Mass what MASS WANTED.
Mass is a tiny relatively homogenous state, and does NOT translate to the nation.
Mitt NEVER told Mass he would kill a state run system.
The Founders did say the states should be laboratories…sorry dude, THEY DID.
I never said RomneyCAre was cool…if you can’t make an argument without first lying about mine, take your infantile abilities elsewhere….

And mitt ran his “laboratory” like an evil mad scientist and used it to line the pockets of the people who bank rolled his political aaspirations. Saying what he did wasn’t reprehensible because he only did it to one state of the union is silly. What next...are you going to defend his making it a felony to own many kinds of semi auto firearms because, well, he just did it at the state level? Keep carrying that thug’s water. I’ll be sure to be very skeptical of anyone else you support.

you still can’t read….I never ever ever never ever ever never said what he did was right. In fact, nothing I said was about MITT per se. It was about the idea that Romneycare = ObamaCare. Sorry, it doesn’t. It was about the idea that Romney snuck romney care on an unsuspecting population in Mass, becuase that too is bullsh-t.

You are obsessed, like small minds are, with people. I am obsessed with ideas. YOu’ve no clue what disucssion I am even having….

I don’t care if the 90% of the Massholes were having torch rallies every night after sunset to show support for romneycare and gun control. You’re bound and determined to split any hair you can to excuse his actions because it’s what the Massholes wanted.

Again, you miss the point, because of your infantile obsession with a person you hate. I am excusing NOTHING - I am dealing with REALITY.

None of your absurd comments change a few facts that I have stated: which is that Romneycare does NOT = Obamacare and Mass does NOT=The USA…..

He was governor of Mass. It is a screwed up state. But he did not sneak anything past them. It is what THEY wanted. Now, I’ve said many times that being gov of a lib state and GOP nominee in the same lifetime is a dumb idea….which is why Christie is a dumb idea….but it IS a very lib state.

not at all…you did not post in a vacuum…..you posted as a response to a certain question with the past two years of FR anti Mtt posting as a backdrop….moreover, as a response, you begged a straw argument as well.

Nice try...

LOL.

Wow, dodging and weaving verbally, more leftist tactics.

Sounds like you're trying some stealth Mitt support, much like you did back in the 2012 primaries. But when the site owner warned the Mittbots back then, you slid back down under the covers. Now you're peeking out, testing the waters in your "mini-defense" of Mitt. Mole-like behavior.

Give it up, FR will never be a Mitt support site. It wasn't in 2012, and it won't be in 2016, no matter how badly you may desire it.

It will be interesting to see your "hey all, Mitt wasn't really all that bad" postings for the 2016 primaries.

Go ahead and post your snarky leftist response, I'll give you the satisfaction of having the last word(s).

Let me try this one more time colonel ignorant. I was NOT posting about Mitt per se. I was NOT a Mitt supporter. Like Jim, I was a bigtime NEWT supporter, and FTR, I was that before FR became Newt territory. I was thrilled it did….just saying.

but you can stick your ignorant polish the teachers apple you know where…..I was simply talking about the IDEA that there is a difference between states and Fed govts…and how that applies. I was not a Mitt guy ever and was not a govt healthcare guy ever and I never will be. I wrote a damned 103 thousand word book demolishing the GOP estabs for Mitt and other mistakes.

You are just on a paranoid witch hunt driven by your own incredible ignorance.

Seriously, what kind of mental illness would cause you to think I’m some sort of undercover Mitt guy? Why in the world would you not assume that the point I was making was the point I was making….simply on the issue of federalism and the Founders’ concept of states being laboratories - as well as the state of Mass versus the entire country being so dramatically different. They are!

I stand by those points, and neither point is dependent on bringing Mitt, or any other person, into the conversation. It’s about the ideas.

What kind of darkness drove you to the paranoid conclusion? I just don’t get it. I really don’t. I’m a pretty prolific poster, and my opinions are well known here. I was a Cain guy early and then a Newt guy after that, and I stand by the idea that Newt (who imploded, was drawn into Mitt’s game) would have been a better messenger for the general. I stand by the fact that the GOPe, who gave us Mitt, and McCain, have been losing for 20 years. These are not secrets.

I really don’t understand your knee jerk paranoia. They are doing wonderful things with meds these days. You should check some out.

you’re an arrogant ignorant ass….I have looooong posting history of being pro Newt…..before jim Rob got there.

Stick it up your ass.

As a poster (very recently) said:

You should check some out.

Also some Anger Management classes might help you.

I think such classes are covered under Obamacare (and probably Mitt's plan as well).

Yes, I do get angry to be accused of something so preposterous. And way to show your maturity on violating the very idea of private mail. You are now outted as an untrustworthy gossip. I am simply outted as righteously angry and by the way, correct on the issue.

Go change your pampers.

I vouch for that. Regarding the rest of this unfortunate dialogue ... what we got here is failure to communicate ... you're both on the same team.

U still mad bro?

Hey, if you think you're going to get away with using FR Email in such ways, you're going to get "outted" about it, every time.

If you want to use such language about me, post it right out there in the open for everybody to see.

I mean, that's how you really feel, right?

You didn't of course because you knew you would probably get in trouble for the nasty words/attack.

More leftist tactics on your part.

Lol, you might want to check your FR Email.

I got one from him that was all "love and kisses", fer sure.

Apparently, reading his responses to those who disagree with him, he is just to "intellectual" for them to ever understand his superior intellect and vast, far-sighted views.

LOL, what a guy.
