The Republican Party as we knew it is dead. No longer are they going to compete in any serious way in national elections. And while they might be able to win state races and gerrymandered congressional seats, they will no longer be able to play on the big stage because of how theyve behaved for the past five years under President Obama.
It didnt have to be this way. They couldve learned from the shutdowns of 1995 and 1996, and taken a more moderate approach to the Obama years. They could have condemned the racist birthers or those in their own right flank who think bringing a Confederate flag to the White House with a Black family inside is no big deal. They could have spent the last five years debating policy, but instead they have entered in the dangerous territory of attacking the president as a person.
The GOP has refused to condemn racist rhetoric since President Obama took office. This weekend during a vets rally to protest the shutdown, Larry Klayman said to a cheering crowd at an event attended by Sarah Palin, and Republican Sens. Mike Lee and Ted Cruz. I call upon all of you to wage a second American nonviolent revolution, to use civil disobedience, and to demand that this president leave town, to get up, to put the Quran down, to get up off his knees, and to figuratively come up with his hands out.
Mainstream conservatives have tried to get the focus off the racist rhetoric, but the damage was done.
After the two-week shutdown, the Republican Partys approval rating is lower than ever. A whopping 74 percent of Americans disapprove of the GOPs handling of the manufactured government shutdown crisis. More than 90 percent of African Americans voted for President Obama in 2012. And other people of color backed the president as well with 71 percent of Latinos and 73 percent of Asians voting for Obama in 2012.
The reason for these bleak numbers in support of the Republican Party is both the result of rhetoric and policy. Its very difficult to win over Black voters when your partys mascot, Rush Limbaugh, refers to the regal and fabulous First Lady, as Moochelle Obama, on a regular basis. Sure, Limbaugh is a carnival barker and frequently says things simply to drive ratings and be outrageous. But when the mainstream Republican Party co-signs him and refuses to condemn his rhetoric, the entire GOP gets painted with the Limbaugh brush.
The real reason the GOP is in big trouble is Latino voters are the single group that stand to benefit the most from Obamacare. Yes, the same Obamacare that Republicans shut down the government over. Couple that with the birtherism, jingoism, anti-immigrant rhetoric and you have the perfect recipe for never again winning the White House. And while those gerrymandered House districts may make the Republican Party pretty safe from the threat of losing the House in 2014, the latest Cook Report that specializes in ranking safe House districts moved 14 seats in the direction of Democrats just in the two weeks since the shutdown began.
Mostly as a result of the damage House Republicans sustained during the 16-day government shutdown, we are making changes to our ratings in 15 House seats, all but one in Democrats' direction," Cook Political Report said in a statement.
The Republican Partys often racially charged attacks on the president are not just something that turns off Black voters. If the 2012 cycle was any indication, it turns off voters of all political stripes and colors, including nearly three quarters of Latinos and Asians, voting to maintain a Democratic White House. If the GOP doesnt wise up to that fact, they are going to be in exile nationally for a generation or more.
Cracks me up to see idiots like her babbling about how we all is gonna take over.
That car you drove to the studio? Designed and built by which guy from Zimbabwe, Zerlina?
The studio itself: name the Mexican inventor of the CCD cameras, the transmitter amplifiers, the audio receivers and recording system, Zerlina.
What? You say you can’t name such....because they don’t exist?
But we’re all supposed to be a askeered of the big bad Angry Non-whites and their righteous rage over...other people’s achievements.
And we better get with the program RIGHT NOW and vote them into power so they can get all that bling’n’stuff cuz’ we just have too much and they have so little.
It’s beyond hilarious to listen to mental midgets like her. She lives in a paradise created by intellects far beyond her - and understands nothing about it, taking it for granted.
The U.S. will be one giant Detroit after cement brained parrots like her get their way.
“moochel” is racist?
What racist talk, all this person is doing is listing is stuff he doesn’t like being said.
Asians voting for a Black guy because of his race?
What the left exists on is LIES. That never holds up.
Giving everything to people for free isn't good for them (it makes them dependent).
Treating perfectly capable people like they're disadvantaged is an insult.
Rewarding failure encourages failure.
Expecting everyone to work is good for society.
Personal responsibility is a good thing.
Whining instead of demonstrating initiative is a losing strategy.
How, in the world, is Klayman's statement racist?
Yep. But before it goes, the GOP could do the country one last favor. Push for a constitutional amendment to require a runoff if no candidate gets 51%.
That way, third parties actually have a chance.
” My ultimate goal - to become the very first Caucasian in the Congressional Black Caucus. “ right on, right on, right on brotha..... Power to the movement brotha, the Cruz movement.
Everything’s racist in Obamaland.
Krap like this is continuing because the weak knee GOPES, gop Elite Snobs, allowed let the demo-coms to do so. The media should be given a sound trashing by conservative candidates and conservative talk show hosts like Dennis Praeger. Just citing the stuff they were using to incite racial strife which has resulted in black youths (mainly) attacks on whites and hispanics resulting in deaths.
But its not even being approached. Not only (pardon the pun) collectively, but individually. Doing so would clearly point out that the visual and print media will are deep in the socialist sewer with the regime. They are creating an America its citizens does not know.
Because from each one of the media alphabet soup kitchens they idividually cooked up poisonous concoctions following the cue given them by The POTUS Obama. Falling all over each other defending Obamas mere comments If I had a son and That could have been me utterances which served as cues to the direction the propapganda was to take.
The fact that The POTUS embelished one statement after another. And as POTUS had to have full knowledge of the circumstaces of the Florida episode which in essence was a black on black episode. Yet POTUS Obama decided to manipulate the facts into a full blown racial incident to furthur a socialist concept and inflame a political base makes the Je Accuse Dreyfus scandal look like French pastry.
Letting POTUS Obama and the media get away with this travesty particularly by the clueless political opposition just boggles the mind.
Reply that you didn’t abandon the GoP, they abandoned you (us).
Remember, according to liberals, if you say one bad thing about their messiah, its racist..meanwhile, there were signs calling for Bush’s beheading, murder, torture, and every other despicable thing imaginable but I guess that means, what, the left hates white people? The left just cant stand it that we are giving Obama just a tad of the pure hell they put Bush through for 8 yrs
Nor do I watch the NFL.
