The gang of seven immigration bill in the House is dead, at least for this year. Dem Rep. Luis Gutierrez, a key player on immigration as a member of the gang told Greg Sargeant of the Washington Post, that the bill is stalled and not expected to go anywhere soon. Certainly not this fall and unlikely this winter session.
That throws it into an election year, which could effectively kill the bill altogether. Two reasons the bill has failed is that the republican leadership has refused to support any immigration bill and while on August vacation, many republicans heard from constituents, that they do not want amnesty for the 11.5 illegals currently in this country.

Hey, Luiz.....choke on it. You won’t get it, not as long as you don’t control the House.
Nonsense. The Gutierrez effort never had a chance. The GOP-e is planning a vote on “border security” and possibility a “Dream Act” this fall. Then, once in conference with the Senate, they want to bring in elements of the Gang of 8 bill.
McCain is going to be very upset!
Is this the proposed Ryan Act? Named for the tall guy from WI who was so deferential to the arrogant self-important Biden
Exactly.
Once again, conservatives get a victory and whine about it. Gets old.
Horsefeathers!
Try tripling that number Bozo!
Im wondering if Smith,King and Gohmert should help Guiterrez kill any enforcement bill.
Then force them to restart a gang bill. If they pass any immigration bill out of committee with big talking Gowdy it is more likely to pass than a House Gang bill. Then they say they won’t pass any amnesty because Obama refuses to deport gangs, drunks and fraudsters.
The only thing a Gowdy enforcement bill can do is get Reid and Obama to veto it as is with no conference.
Goodlatte is delusional. Is he suggesting that he will deport so many dreamers that once he passes the Dream Act Lite the USCIS will not be overwhelmed.
Let’s say there are 2 million Dreamer BS artists. Goodlatte wants to deport 1.9 million of them for fraud and other abuses. Than the most precious 100,000 of them can apply for Dream Act Lite.
