Reagan was not a life long pro-lifer, that's simply incorrect. He signed a pro abortion bill in California, and some years later changed his mind. Romney changed his mind in 2006.

He's never recanted from that change. The church you denigrate so often Ansell, happens to be pro-life (I am not a Mormon, moron, and yes that's an insult to someone who deserves it), so why do you think it's any less sincere than Reagan's change?

"Purists" like yourself who won't vote to remove the most pro-abort administration ever are simply pathetic. Even if you don't trust Romney (I never did), what in the world are you thinking? Is it even possible for Romney to be any where close to the extremist positions our current white hut occupant holds in every thing?

Once again, you're a pathetic liar for pretending I'm some kind of Romney worshipper, and incredibly stupid to have helped reelect the alternative.

Romneybots spread misinformation in behalf of Romney and against Reagan.

Reagan was never pro-abortion, and like most of America in the 1960s when he signed that bill, was shocked to see what the "health of the mother" turned into, Romney is still pro-abortion, and campaigned as pro-abortion and as against the GOP pro-life platform.

All this was posted to you in post 170.

Now, that is an abusive post from which you should recant.

Reagan was never pro-abortion. Early on he was pro-life with exceptions for rape, incest, and life of the mother. The nature of the debate and legislation at that time did not have the stringency in rhetoric that exists today. As time went on, he became more stringent in his exceptions and his rhetoric.

The ACLU on the legislation Reagan signed:

California’s Therapeutic Abortion Act appears in our statute books exactly as Governor Reagan signed it in 1967.

A progressive measure 35 years ago, the Therapeutic Abortion Act now is archaic, confusing, and unconstitutional. A lawyer researching the Health and Safety Code today would read that abortion is legal only if a hospital committee determines that the pregnancy will gravely impair a woman’s physical or mental health or a District Attorney concludes that the pregnancy probably resulted from rape or incest.
