Sen. Marco Rubio sought to blunt a wave of criticism from the conservative Heritage Foundation Thursday with a letter touting the economic benefits of immigration.
On Monday, the Florida Republican met with David Addington, group vice president of research at Heritage, and just days later the think tank >slammed the senators immigration proposal as a costly amnesty program.
In a letter to Mr. Addington Thursday, Mr. Rubio said immigration would ultimately be a boon to the economy. Under the Senate plan, future immigrants would be evaluated more frequently based on their skills and employment prospects, which would help promote economic growth, Mr. Rubio wrote.
I am keenly aware that there will be budgetary impacts when illegal immigrants begin to access citizenship beginning 13 years after immigration reform is enacted, Mr. Rubio wrote. However, I also believe that immigration reform
will improve the labor market, increase entrepreneurship and create jobs, leading to a net increase in economic growth and reducing the deficit.

Yeah, right! Food Stamp use, Welfare (TANF), unemployment checks......we will be TRILLIONS more in debt if they push amnesty through.
We’re going to have to name this bill after Rubio. Rubiocare or something.
rubenesty?
I’m really wondering when Mark Levin is going to let go of his love for Marco and stop supporting him as a political candidate. Really, Levin doesn’t support this amnesty bill, but he still talks like he’ll endorse Rubio in future elections to the end. He says Rubio is conservative on everything else. Sorry to say Mark, his gang of 8 actions negate all the good he’s done, just like a murderer doesn’t escape prison, just because he did a lot of good before killing.
Mark says lotsa good things. Then he caves on Romney, now Rubio.
It is what it is.
This is really disheartening, isn't it?
Yes but I accept that most so called conservatives are not who or what they say they are. And I accept that thanks to them, the Rinos and dems have free rein.
If that was not the case, they would not say one thing and do another. Principles DO matter. And after it all comes apart, hopefully people of principle can salvage what remains from the people that threw it all away.
That’s one of the bigger lies he’s told...if immigration helped the economy, why then, with the gates wide open for the last 20 years aren’t we doing great!!!!???

Marco has let his brain be Chucked.
He has lost all capability of logical thought processes.
Funny that with 8% unemployment that this crowd still has the gaul to claim we have jobs only immigrants will do.
McConell put Rubio in the Gang of 8. Rubio is just fronting the old Chamber of Commerce amnesty lobby. Nothing new here, just a new spokesman. Big money in amnesty and the beltway GOP has no problem pimping us out to get it.
