The best thing that could happen to Democrats in the run-up to the 2016 election campaign is a Republican slate of Sarah Palin for president and Rand Paul for her running mate. Its a dream ticket for Democrats, a nightmare for Republicans.
As the Republican Party attempts to put Humpty Dumpty back together again after the presidential fiascos of 2008 and 2012, the challenge that rises above all others is defining, or redefining, the party. Its not going well.
Party disarray was in full flower recently at the annual meeting of the Conservative Political Action Conference, where Palin and Paul were among the headliners of a peculiar show.
Palin, youll recall, is the failed half-term governor of Alaska and the vice presidential candidate who guaranteed that a good man, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., would lose his bid for the presidency to an unknown, untested, one-term senator from Illinois. Since then, shes become a superstar attraction wherever the far right huddles up, and CPAC gave her the love. They cheered her snarky remarks about other Republicans. They loved her coquettish sipping of a jumbo soft drink (a swipe at New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a Republican). They laughed raucously at her rack joke (obliquely referring to her admittedly fetching figure), which put her in the company of high-priced hookers presenting trophies at the porn film industry awards. Ya gotta love the family values crowd.
For his part, Kentucky Sen. Paul, fresh off a filibuster on drone policy that proved nothing........

Mr. Bloomberg is a Republican like I'm a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model.
How about a Ben Carson and Ted Cruz duo or vice versa? Sarah can replace Reince Priebus.
Heh. In Before the Helen Thomas Pic.
It doesn’t matter who is on the ticket...as long as the MSM continues to pound the GOP and low information voters continue to get most of their information from the likes of THE VIEW...the GOP will continue to lose.
When is the Republican Party going to call out the palace guard media? Gingrich was the only candidate last cycle who pointed out to Obama/media types when they were using DNC talking point questions.
Past time to take it to the MSM. Demand fairness.
However. A Palin/Paul ticket is probably the ONLY Republican ticket I would vote for.
Carson/Cruz? ! ? No.

To run against Hillary/Marx 2016?
Not only vote for. See my tagline.
These guys think there will be an election in 2016.....
The Democrats ar stuck with running a drunken, marxist, rode-hard-and-put-up-wet, goggle-eyed gargoyle and they are laughing about OUR possible ticket?
Yes, because their ticket will very likely win.
1) "Failed" = doesn't do what leftists want.
2) Actually, she didn't handicap a good man, she almost pulled a unprincipled asshole RINO (who STILL would have been superior to The Won) across the line. Tons of people voted for Palin and held their nose because Juan "Lettuce" McBackstabbingaislereachingbastard was on the ticket with her.
Hillary will never be pResident.
This a**hat must think everyone in the country is ready to give up their Second Amendment rights, their right to teach the Christian faith of the Bible to their children, their right to keep the money they earn for their families instead of turning over to the corrupt, greedy government so they can buy the votes of the slothful Takers.
These “enlightened” writers, members of Obama’s corrupt crowd, the Left in academia, will be stunned when things suddenly blow up, and they are running for their lives. Why are such thoroughly predictable events never foreseen by the elite? Because they are listening only to the people who agree with them and simply don’t believe a vast, seething majority can rise like a breaking tsunami and sweep them all away.
Yeah, moderate and liberal Republicans can't excite the base and get them out to vote.
Alternative, the GOP hasn't learned how to stuff ballot boxes the way the Dems do.
The Dem nominee in 2016 will be San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro.
I hope you’re right, but this country voted for Obama twice. We have our work cut out for us.
The Senate would lose an important player, but the ticket would have a lot to say to an America ready, willing and able to hear.
Well, there may be an election, but the outcome will be pre programmed.
