I'll get flamed for this, but...I'm glad he lost in 2008. He wouldn't have been a tyrant like Obama, but all the same, he still would have been a lousy president. He acts like a spoiled child. He represents much of what's wrong with the Republican Party.

I feel the same way, even though it meant we were stuck with obama. I really believed he would be a one-term president, but thanks to the GOPE - we got another moderate who can’t win elections. Sigh!

I have watched John McCain become a liberal over several years now. He has assisted the left at every turn and what about that daughter of his? Who is further left than her? McCain should come clean and switch to the Democratic party. It would be the honorable thing to do.

While it's impossible for him to have been a worse president, the damage he would have inflicted on Conservatism is incalculable; he would have "reached across the aisle" to oppose every issue important to us leaving the movement dispirited and leaderless.

At the same time, the GOPe would be crowing about how only they could win elections.

In short, you're absolutely right.

The plan was for McCain to lose in 2008. The farce when he suspended his 2008 presidential campaign, while ahead in the polls, to run back to Washington and behave like a complete idiot instead of a mature leader, is evidence he was knowingly playing the role of the fall guy in an election Obama was set up to win.

Look at McCain’s political career. He was owned and funded by Charles Keating in the 1980’s, He and the rest of the Keating 5 should have been prosecuted and sent to jail. Somehow he escaped with a slap on the wrist. He then started sucking up to the mainstream press and playing the “maverick” role which essentially means he is a Democrat tool masquerading as a Republican.

If he had somehow beaten Obama in 2008 Reid, Pelosi, and the press would have tied him up in knots. The economy would have been as lousy as we experienced under Obama with the press and Dems daily calling it a depression. There would have been no Tea Party in 2010 meaning Pelosi would have stayed as Speaker. In 2012 we would have seen Hillary destroy President McCain in a landslide or the return of Obama. In either case, McCain and his party would have been destroyed.

The globalist elites are executing a plan to make the US a third world socialist dictatorship. McCain is a willing tool as are Romney, Boehner, McConnell, the Bush family, Karl Rove, and others in the Republican establishment. If they weren’t intent on destroying the party to the Democrats, the Republican establishment would have embraced the Tea Party. They would support conservative candidates who electrify the electorate instead of running boring middle of the road candidates who lose. They would not be sending McCain and Graham out every week to be the face of the Republican Party on the Sunday talk shows. They would not shun and neutralize Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz, Alan West, Herman Cain, and Michelle Bachman while at the same time talking about the need to be more inclusive of women and minorities. If the controllers of the party were patriots, Boehner and the Republican House would have used the appropriations power to rein in spending in 2011 instead of playing into the game of making the party look stupid by talking tough and caving in a series of “crises” designed to make Obama look good. If the Republican elites were not aiding and abetting the enemy, both McCain and Romney would have run the same hard hitting campaign against Obama they ran against their Republican primary opponents. Both demonstrated they could bloody conservatives while turning the other cheek when beaten to a pulp by Obama.

John McCain fought in Vietnam and may have been a patriot decades ago. He may also have just been an ambitious son of an Admiral getting the combat experience he needed to climb the ranks in the Navy who was unlucky enough to get shot down. Whatever he was in his youth, since the early 1990’s he has consistently lined up to support those who are trying to destroy individual liberty and worked to bring down those who defend freedom. By his actions everyday he demonstrates he is not a patriot in old age.

Benedict Arnold was one of Washington’s best generals before he turned to the other side. We do not honor him today for his victories prior to becoming a traitor. Likewise I can no longer respect McCain for his past service. He is a willing accomplice of the enemies of liberty and deserves the contempt of women and men who desire to be free. As such, he has no honor and is not deserving of respect.
