"Sarah Palin has leveraged her brand well since exploding on the national scene in 2008, but since she recently lost her bully pulpit at Fox News, she may need to make another national run for office to keep the Sarah Palin brand viable," said political pundit William S. Bike.
Bike is the author of the book Winning Political Campaigns: A Comprehensive Guide to Electoral Success.
"Palin still will make money giving speeches to Republican and conservative organizations, but without the national stage that her Fox News job provided, she's going to start fading from public consciousness," Bike said. "To keep being a household name in the minds of the vast majority of Americans who aren't political junkies, she's going to have to make another national run."
Bike noted that this is exactly what Newt Gingrich did in 2012.
"Newt was Speaker of the House in the early- and mid-1990s but then faded from view," Bike said. "Political junkies would see him pop up on various cable political shows, but he had been out of John Q. Public's consciousness for years. He ran for president in 2012 knowing he didn't have a chance, but also knowing that the debates and the free election political coverage would make him a household name once again and translate into more sales for his books and more paid public speaking gigs."
Look for Palin to be the Gingrich of 2014 and 2016, Bike said. "I expect she'll be campaigning for conservative candidates in 2014 to make contacts for a presidential run in 2016," Bike added. "That's a two-year cycle of making the Palin brand more viable.
"The result will be more Palin book sales and paid public appearances at the least, and depending on the 2016 Republican field, she could catch lightning in a bottle...

Gee, it’s a shame that happened to Reagan as well.
That is what she does, to the tune of about 80 races so far.
Someone who hasn’t a clue speculating on trivial nonsense.
Now, right there would be one awesome pair for leadership.
Spot on. She’ll be solid with conservatives for the rest of her life, but as the candidate she’s done for in national politics. She’ll make millions a year doing just what she’s been doing. Her 2016 run will be more tied to making an income, than actually being President.
I don’t believe this country is sane enough anymore to elect a conservative to the White House. The “gimme” mentality is just too pervasive.
HA-HA, ANOTHER national run.
She is damaged material. The left has unfairly ruined her image. She has to stay local, where the people can see what she is really like.
They keep saying she ‘lost’ her bully pulpit at Fox. She didn’t ‘lose’ it. She gave it up. Heck of adifference.
************
Bottom line, It's gone regardless of the semantics as to how it occurred.
Palin will still be a draw and that is where she has to make her efforts count in securing those opportunities.
Sarah doesn’t do things without a plan. She walked away from Fox...and with good reason, I might add. Sarah is easily the most recognizable person from both parties worldwide except for maybe obama.
When she comes out, she will be locked and loaded.
(bump!)
I know what you mean :
Her FaceBook posts reach far more people than any appearance on FNC, plus unlike having to deal with the stupid ramblings of Hannity, she controls the venue. She has over 3.5 million who follow her on FB, over 800 thousand followers on Twitter, and every thing she writes gets linked on a variety of websites.
