Late last night, New York Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin, one of the few Republicans with a strong enough spine to stand up to the new gun legislation, released the following statement on his Facebook page.
"Here it is. This is the video where I was asked to keep the Democrat proposals for the NY SAFE Act away from the public. This list was given to me by a colleague and it is not confidential.
This bill was an attack on the 2nd amendment and the Democrats clearly wanted to dismantle the work of the Founding Fathers. None of these amendments were included in the final bill thanks to us fighting back. I will not stand silent while these unpatriotic proposals are pathetically thrown at us a 11 oclock at night."
In the video clip (seen below), McLaughlin is prepared to discuss a list of original proposals from the Democrats regarding gun control. The list, much in the same vein that Governor Cuomo himself had discussed, actually proposed the confiscation of guns and clips
This is essentially a Democrat wish list for trampling the Second Amendment. Here is the video...

We see it all the time with marriage-deconstructing laws by homos, who resist any amendments for religious liberty until they realize that they can't pass them without these exemptions.
He should have been asked "Since you haven't seen the list, why would you say that it shouldn't be released? Or have you seen the list?"
I am happy to see a few things here :
First, someone with an “(R)” in their name pointed out the tyranny, and fought it with a smile.
Secondly, the Media covered this.
I am very happy with how this has unravelled.
New York Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin has the list posted on his Facebook page too (available to non-facebook users) . . .

And we'll beg them to do it!
Just a little societal conditioning. By the time they're adults they wont even notice the razor wire.
I join you in your happiness. May this corruption keep unraveling.
Already working on getting out of the People’s Republic of Maryland. Looking for a friendlier more conservative locale.
If I were a New Yorker, I’d have fun calling the cops on cops, who don’t magazines complying with the law.
Come to Texas, specifically North of Austin. It’s quiet and conservative. has it’s problems to be sure but all in all not a bad place to be.

None of these amendments were included in the final bill thanks to us fighting back. I will not stand silent while these unpatriotic proposals are pathetically thrown at us a 11 oclock at night:
1. Confiscation of “assault weapons”
2. Confiscation o ten round clips
3. Statewide database for ALL Guns
4. Continue to allow pistol permit holder’s information to be replaced to the public
5. Label semiautomatic shotguns with more than 5 rounds or pistol grips as “assault weapons
6. Limit the number of rounds in a magazine to 5 and confiscation and forfeiture of banned magazines
7. Limit possession to no more than two (2) magazines
8. Limit purchase of guns to one gun per person per month
9. Require re-licensing of all pistol permit owners
10. Require renewal of all pistol permits every five years
11. State issued pistol permits
12. Micro-stamping of all guns in New York State
13. Require licensing of all gun ammo dealers
14. Mandatory locking of guns at home
15. Fee for licensing, registering weapons
what media covered this? All I see is blog.
I moved to upstate NY for a job about 20 some years ago from northern Louisiana, I will be retiring soon if it wasn’t for my kids being in NY, I’d be loading up the truck and back to Alexandria I would go. I may go back anyways after I retire and convince them it’s much better and to come along. NY is geographically beautiful it’s just some of the people that make it horrible. That especially goes for the downstate liberals.
I retire 31 Jan; my highest priority too is to move back to Texas ASAP and away from this horrible state of MD!
Worried threats of confiscation might “dampen the enthusiasm for compromise...”? Really? Ya think? Where DO these people come from?
I had to travel to Chevy Chase last Wednesday. As towns go, Chevy Chase is supposed to be pretty good. I found it to be a liberal hell hole. Time to make MD a conservative free zone and let the state implode.
