The Rev. Jesse Jackson on Saturday said that President Obamas reelection was a great victory, but that it would be incomplete with a reconstruction of urban America and an investment in the communities where the blacks who voted overwhelmingly for the president live.
Were happy and full of pride, in the presidents reelection, Jackson told the crowd at the Saturday morning forum at Rainbow/PUSH headquarters, 930 E. 50th St., but our houses remain raggedy our schools remain closed.
Despite attempts at voter suppression in states such as Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida, Jackson said, blacks turned out en masse to vote, enduring waits that stretched into hours in many places. We waited, we voted, we believed, Jackson said. Now we want to get well.
We voted early, we voted long. Our votes won, he said.
Rev. Jackson, who spoke longer, louder, and more forcefully than he has in some time at the Saturday morning Rainbow/PUSH meeting, asked the crowd, What do we want? We want, we want, we want, we deserve, we deserve a return on our investment.
Whats good for us is good for everybody. Whats good for blacks is good for everybody., he said. We bled too much, we died too young, we cried too much, we prayed too long, now we want a return on our investment.
Referring to those voter suppression efforts, he said, these acts of meanness had unintended consequences. Rather than keeping blacks and Latinos away from the polls, voter ID measures and the curtailing of access to the voting booths made people more determined to vote. Suppression became stimulation and people fought back, he said.
We fought back, and the battle was won, but the war still remains, he said. If we vote and dont bargain we get nothing. A Jacuzzi filled with stagnant water will not get you well, Jackson said. You have to stir the water. Jackson said blacks, who voted for Barack Obama for state senator, for U.S. Senator, and now twice as President of the United States, should demand, bargain, and march if necessary, for an end to patterns of race discrimination, (for) our share of jobs. We want faster public transportation to connect us to where the jobs are.
He said black American also needs access to capital, noting, Its cruel to say. jump in the pool, when there is no water.
He also called for fair trade, a domestic trade zone. We need a domestic OPEC, he said. In Chicago, for example, there are 100,000 vacant homes or abandoned lots; 40,000 in Baltimore. If we were to rebuild 25 percent, if we take down the boards and put in window panes, fix the broken sidewalks, cut the grass, fix the roofing, wed create more jobs than there are people, just rebuilding where we live.
Jackson said, there must be a plan for reconstruction of urban America.
Saying that automobile companies and banks got bailouts, were the people who provided the votes we want to be bailed out. We need jobs, education, healthcare now. If we can be targeted for voter registration and voter turnout, target us for reconstruction, now.
We are the new mainstream, Jackson said. We are the America of shared hopes and shared dreams. We have the power, we have the votes.
We waited, we voted, we believed, now we want to get well. He then asked the crowd, Do you want to get well? Are you willing to fight to get well?
Its time to sing a new song, of joy and hope, Jackson said.
Its time to march again. March for healthcare, march for jobs. When we march great things come our way.
When a Democrat like Jesse Jackass talks about ‘voter suppression’ which essentially exists in Democrat suppression of the military vote, it translates to where in actuality Democrats intend vote fraud.
And why hasn't that happened Mr. Race-baiter? Why have so many inner cities turned into ghettoes over the years? And why have not the citizens of those areas kept that from occurring? Those inner-cities have been flooded with Fedgov and State funds for decades, but yet, YOU just can't understand or want to place blame on others.
You're a fraud who desires to keep blacks down on the plantation so you can be "someone" who seems to care. Civilized Americans long ago recognized "civil rights" - I did. You voted Obama back in office and exactly what has he done for the poor blacks in the last 4 years? Oh, right, he has enabled more on welfare, food stamps, and fraudulent disability which helps diminish their integrity.
And while I'm at it, just why are there so many black Mothers raising children alone? Jackson, you have NO clue what makes a man. If you did, you would be telling your Brothers to stop impregnating their girls friends/wives and then running off. It's a verified statistic.
I despise you, Sharpton, and all your ilk who make money off the "hopes" of those you claim to support. You're a lying self-serving POS. Go to hell.
“40 acres and a mule?”
40 EBT bucks and a phone.
Gubmint workers, unable to fire, and paid for life x millions
Just how do we know what he said? The man mumbles all the time.
They also voted many times each. He forgot to add that.
Simple Plan:
All African Americans, Native Indians and Japanese (That were mistreated during WWII) will rece1ve 1 acre of land in and around the City of Los Angles California. They will also receive a one time payment of 100 thousand dollars. To keep both they must inhabit the property they are given for 15 years if they leave they will immediately lose the property and must repay the full 100 thousand dollars.. they are not allowed to sell the property for the same period.
Now they are not forced to accept the deal BUT if they don't they are done with reparations forever.
California would gain lots of people to tax AND they would have a very diverse community to enrich their state.
Oh and Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton must accept the money and land or the deal is null and void for all.
I flip houses in those areas and if we don’t have squatters there to protect our property, the neigbors break in and steal evrything they can. We had a house in a so-so area and someone tried to steal the outside light by ripping it down and it sparked some wires in the wall and burned the roof off. We had a squatter in the house after we fixed the roof and he was awqke at 4am and said the ac was rattling, someone was trying to ripp it out of the wall. WEDNESDAY our squatter was gone overnight and 3 people tried to steal the waterheater and someone went in through a window stole the stove. We sold the polace on Friday and it is no longer our problem. THANK GOD!!!
We bid on houses that have had EVERYTHING STOLEN, AC units off the roofs, waterheaters, windows stolen or broken, copper wire removed from the walls along with the toilets/sinks and the copper pipe. We always see black people just sitting on their front porches day, after day, after day and they are all on ssi, welfare etc.
We had or workers in a house and they were robbed while they worked, 2 black guys walked in and said we’re taking your tools and they did.
We had a house in a good area and the lady across the street watched a guy walk up and take the screen off the window and throw it over the fence and then try to break in through the window, she called the police and they said they would send someone, she called back 10 mins later and they said someone was on the way, she called back again and they asked if the house was occupied and she said no and the said they wouldn’t do anything becasue it was an empty house. Same thing happened weds at the other house, the cops came and talkked to the people who were trying to steal the waterheater AND THEY LET THEM GO.

Your rap stars are happy and your Beyonce sluts are proud. That’s all you’re going to get.
Raggedy houses mean no maintenance. Repair the raggedy houses and don’t maintain them equals raggedy houses.
If blacks were more fully employed it would remove a power base from the Democrap Party; therefore, the party can’t afford to have that happen.

Could it be that the reason your homes and schools are raggedy is that you don’t take care of them and are lazy by nature? Yes, I think.

Yeah I notice that most urban areas like Chicago, Detroit, Flint, etc that are heavily occupied by the black population are in a lot worse shape than other areas. Maybe you are too busy partying / living irresponsibly / not taking care of your homes. Why rebuild when t will look the same again months or a year?

They aren’t lazy by nature. They are lazy because they’ve been coddled by government. Will happen to anyone dependent on government.
I think Blacks just voted themselves into irrelevance. They are the past, the future is all about Hispanics.
I guess Rev JJ thinks O is off to a good start (/snix):
O's billion dollar stimulus was strictly for the 47%'s entitlements and public sector budgets......BUT ONLY in states that were re/electing democrats. The money is gone but public sector got 2 years worth of budget goodies out of it........as O schemes to have the rest of us pay and pay and pay.
And howz'about O's other billion dollar fraud (one that we know of)---"minority" farmers getting federal payouts without having to prove they even raised a radish?
