Need help composing an email to my Blue friends
Vanity | OCtober 31, 2012 | Me

Posted on 10/31/2012 3:16:59 AM PDT by Makana

Living in MA, I have some longtime friends who vote Democratic by muscle-memory. These are not especially political people, but just misinformed, I hope.

I want to send them a rational, coherent and brief email that will cause them to reconsider. But I need help in crafting something complelling but brief.

I can't think of a better group from which to ask for ideas than Freepers.

PS If you still insist on voting the same way you did last time, you’re just a stinky baboon.

I just heard from my uber-lib brother who lives in NC, and he early voted for Romney/Ryan, the FIRST TIME he ever voted for a pubbie.

He lives in the Raleigh-Durham area with other Phd, pointy headed liberals, and drinks fine wine and talks in esoteric terms, but he finally voted for a real person.

obama is doomed in NC, and my demonRAT mother rolled over in her grave, as her baby son, her only liberal pride and joy, voted for a pubbie.

Further proof that there is a God and God is good.

Forget it. Not worth the effort.

The one I should think would get to leftists is

“Obama had a large majority in both houses of Congress (past even filibusters in the Senate). For years when in the Senate he railed against the Patriot Act, yet when in power and facing no obstruction, did nothing whatsoever to remove it. Are the infringements on your liberty so trivial that Obama gets a pass one leaving them in place?”

It’s a waste of time if they cannot figure this out on their own considering all that other posters mentioned of which most is available to anyone all over the net and some in the MSM.

That is perfect. Simple, polite and intelligent. Makes the point without unnecessarily alienating/mocking/insulting/condescending the reader. Well written Tigerized.

Dear Friend
Paul Harvey once told a story of a family who always cut the end off of a roast before cooking it. Finally someone thought to ask: why? It turned out that some ancestor did not have a large pan and so cut the end off to fit her pan. Each generation after that did it “just because”. In a similar thought process, and because I respect your integrity and intelligence, I ask you to consider, in light of the information I have listed below, (bullet points)... “Why would you still vote for Obama?” Is it “just because”? And if so, I would ask you to listen to JFK’s inaugural address one more time and consider the points he makes. If you do, you will notice that he would be considered the Republican candidate today. The point here is this: sometimes pans change and old reasons for doing things need to be questioned.
Normally I would let this go because our friendship is important to me. But, at this point I feel that my country and the future generations are really at stake. I hope you hold me in enough regard to think about your reasons and whether or not the pan has changed size. When it comes down to it, what is a friend, if we can’t honestly ask and answer the question, “why”?

I decided years ago I did not need to associate with people this stupid. I wasn’t rude but I let them know that if they held liberal views I was not interested in hearing about them and made it known in no uncertain terms how I felt about the intelligence of liberals. Most of them ..shall we say...self deported!!!

My focus would be on the fact that this isn’t the same democrat party that it used to be, but instead has been taken over by far-left radicals. Perhaps compare it to a business which used to put out good products, then everything went downhill once new owners took charge. The name is the same, but that’s about it.

And so it is with today’s democrats. It’s a party that JFK would hardly recognize. Perhaps point to Pat Caddel as an example of a long-time democrat who is disgusted by what has happened to his party. Another would be Orson Scott Card, the author of Ender’s Game, who has written extensively about how much his party has changed for the worse.

Plus, i would mention that one of the benefits of having a republican administration is that the media will hold them accountable; whereas they look the other way when it comes to democrats, especially so with Obama. Then you might point out how they have covered (or rather, not covered) the Benghazi debacle, contrasting it with how the media treated the Valerie Plame brouhaha. A situation which was absolutely trivial compared to what happened in Libya. And of course there are a lot more examples you can bring up (such as Fast & Furious).

Show them this graph of food stamp users and ask if this fits their definition of an economic recovery:

This is about as short and succinct as I can manage for you. But it relates the truth with brevity:

OBAMA SUCKS!!!!

You could forward this Quote of the Day email someone sent to me:

Compare Obama to JFK on core beliefs.

Don’t tell them who said but Quote Ronald Reagan.

“I didn’t leave the Democratic Party. The party left me.”

Show them that the Democratic party has left them and point out how they changed dramatically on many issues since Kennedy. The safety net has become a hammock. For many older people abortion is a good issues to mention.

For those who said not to try.

If we are not will to try to convince people who are set in their ways what we believe is best for the country we will loose the battle and the county. The first amendment is not only so we post on threads bombastic babble that makes feel superior. We must tell the ignorant, encourage the uninvolved. Help them see past their next paycheck to the future of their kids. If we are unwilling to try we might was well move to a small town in Texas and build a compound where we can sit around feeling smarter and better than everyone else till the ATF comes to get us.

I must admit Brilliant Bombastic Babble dose feel good at times but feelings are at the core of liberal beliefs not conservatives.
