Everything is breaking our way. We have the momentum and a great candidate.
But something isn't right in Ohio. How in the world can zero be tied or up in this state?
Does anyone have any inside information or plausable theories?
I early-voted last Tuesday (first day of early voting); mine was probably the deciding vote for Idaho. :-)
Had to go back Wednesday to sign the ballot request. Both days the parking lot at the elections office was full, and the clerks said it was busy. The second day, it was more packed, and the clerks said it was busy, busy. Lots of enthusiasm up north.
Per the 2010 census (wiki) the racial breakdown of OH is
White: 82.7% (Non-Hispanic Whites: 81.1%)
Black or African American: 12.2%
All of the 12.2% of ‘Obama types’ are not voting age and of those that are, many don’t bother to vote. Not sure how much of a factor they are. Of whites, there are the unions and college campuses, the traditional Democrat strongholds. Again, college campuses by themselves aren’t that much of a factor if the rest of the state is motivated to vote. So it’s down to middle income whites - non college affiliated and both union and non union. Middle income whites are trending Romney nationally and if that is an indication, I think by mid to end of next week Romney will be 2 to 3 points up in OH.
Columbus has been a magnet for gays and their sympathizers for years. They are starting to add up.

Carter vs Reagan
You think the media was any friendlier to R. Reagan than today? Think again Reagan was too controversial, too extreme, way to conservative to ever get elected President. And if that wasnt enough, Reagan would drop nukes on the old Soviet empire.
Two weeks before the 1980 election the media polls averaged out too about a 47 39, in favor of Carter. So Reagan was toast said media the polls. Done finished. Kaput
The Democrats were trounced in Ohio in the 2010 midterms. I’ve really had a hard time believing the polls. There’s no way the people of Ohio have turned that much in 2 years with an economy that is still just as abysmal.
That would be my assessment too, but I am just guessing from long distance. Glad to hear your think that way from close up, in the action.
I have only seen 1 or 2 obama bumper stickers. A few more Romney bumber stickers. 4 years ago, Obama bumper stickers were everywhere. I think people are worried their cars will become targets.
My neighborhood has yard signs mostly Romney, occasional obama.
I am deeply concerned about the absentee ballots which require 2 stamps this year instead of 1. Someone from FR already contacted told me they mailed their ballot with 1 stamp. I told them to contact their County Board of Elections ASAP.
It is unknow weather the post office will return to sender those ballots without enough postage in time to resend , or leave in a box of ‘insufficient postage’
They are only 3.4% of the population according to the latest survey.

My theory is that the Dems are counting on OH being close enough to steal Florida 2000 style. There has already been several articles along the lines of, “the race will come down to Ohio”. So, the MSM is cooperating with the O campaign to keep the ruse up via polls. But, while they aren’t watching, PA is going to Romney. Plus, both PA and OH have Repub Sec. o’ States, which, like Florida, will make it harder to steal.
“We also dropped 18,000 military ballots here!”
what does that mean?
Now, ofcourse, I guess this could work against us too if Omug has a good ground operation going.
Maybe someone else heard this and can add more as to what the guy was saying. I was in and out of the car.
“IIRC, Ohio recently elected a Republican governor and legislature, and, in the deal, started its own mini-recovery. So things just are not as bad in Ohio as they are in much of the rest of the country. That might explain why Ohio hasnt fallen to Romney.
Yet.”
This morning new job figures came out showing that last month Ohio lost over 12,000 jobs. Things aren’t so great in Ohio either, regardless of the propaganda being thrown out there by the MSM/Dems.
Higher in Columbus. They found a way to multiply.
Reproducing at the cellular level I guess! ;-)

Do the OH GOP voters that you guys speak with realize that it is up to them to save the country? (by delivering OH to Romney)...Is the urgency there?
We gave out to military personnel 18,000 absentee ballots. Does that help?
There, there...we love you, yes sirree and you and LS are aces in your analysis...even I can understand it...keep up the great work...SO appreciated here.
Thank you for the correction!
How many signs did you see in 2008 for Obama?
Numbers say you’re wrong.
