I think the senate race in MO had many contestants, so Akin probably received no where over 50% of vote. He won because of dividing of votes by others. Also his complete lack of political competence was not well known before the election.

lot of that in today's Republican party ~ even candidate's running low scoring ringers just to make themselves look good.

They keep up such coalition busting tricks long enough and the Republican party will be shedding coalition partners and turning into a regional party.
