Ohio Veterans United today announced the endorsement of Mitt Romney for President of the United States. The announcement was made by Harry Prestanski, executive director and founding member of Ohio Veterans United. “Following a thorough review of the candidates’ backgrounds, experiences, and positions on issues, especially concerning Veteran’s issues, we believe that Governor Romney shares our core values, including being a staunch and effective supporter of veterans,” says Prestanski.

The announcement was made at a press conference held at VFW Post 8312 in Beavercreek, Ohio. “Mitt Romney has shown his support for a strong national defense, as well as support of active duty military and of our veterans,” according to Prestanski. “As Governor of Massachusetts he made it a priority to address issues of highest concern to veterans. Governor Romney elevated the Department of Veterans’ Services to a cabinet-level agency ensuring that veterans had a strong voice in his administration. As Governor he also established a secure electronic voting system for troops deployed overseas, and for cases of emergency, special alternate methods for service members to vote absentee.”(continued)
