"Look, I was an independent during the time of Reagan-Bush, i'm not trying to return to Reagan-Bush" October 25, 1994 debate with Ted Kennedy
This disappoints me
Amen. Working to elect Tea Party members at all levels of government is imperitive.
No, no-——Romney is our greatest hope! /sarc
Mitt Romney is a natural born citizen. Mitt Romney is not a Marxist. Mitt Romney does not hate the USA. Mitt Romney is not a closet Muslim. Mitt Romney is not a racist hater.
Mitt Romney is not Reagan he is a middle of the road republican. Most republicans are middle of the roaders. Sorry to have to tell you that we conservatives are in the minority. But we will be a heck of a lot better off with Romney than the POS usurper that sits in the Whitehouse now.
Nobody is going to save the USA from the total economic collapse that is coming but I’d rather ride it out with any republican president over any libtard president.
AWAY FROM?
Probably wasted breath.
When Obama gets re-elected because they were too Simon Pure to vote for Romney and he gets to reappoint another Monster like Ginsberg or Kagan or Soto-Mayor to the SCOTUS, and when he starts an unbridled reign of tyranny by executive directives and when senior citizens start dying because Obamacare doesn’t provide for life saving technology for people over 70 and when the Muslims make even greater inroads in America and when the Feds start collecting guns from private citizens, and when blacak racist fanatics like the New Black Panther Party get more power, and when the number of illeglas in America starts to escalate, they can then sit back and contemplate their ideological purity.
I do disagree with you about most Republicans. I think most of us are conservatives. The conservative candidates who opposed Romney simply were not up to the job and there were too many of them running. In most cases, Romney never got over 40% of the Republican vote - most votes went to conservatives. Also, Romney has been through this process before, the establishment was backing him, and he simply had too much name recognition and money.
Which is the MORE reason we need to GET THOSE CONSERVATIVES elected at the state, local and federal levels to take back the Party in the future.
“we need to GET THOSE CONSERVATIVES elected at the state, local and federal levels to take back the Party in the future.”
Yep.
Nobody is going to save the USA from the total economic collapse
Not true at all. We can save the country if we elect fiscal conservatives into congress. The deficit for Fiscal Year 2013 is going to be $901. That is an improvment over the 1.32 Trillion deficit of Fiscal Year 2012. The budget can be balanced if we cut our defense and social spending. Growing the economy will also add more revenue.
Our debt now exceeds 100% of GDP. As we continue to have our credit rating downgraded we will have to pay higher interest on the debt. I believe we currently owe about $16 trillion give or take a couple billion. Amercans are not going to take to austerity much better than the Europeans. What is happening in Europe will be coming to a neighborhood near you in the next 2-5 years. Best to prepare for it now.
The national debt was over 120% of GDP at the end of WW2. What did we do? We cut spending and grew the economy. We can do the same thing now.
Romney was anti-Reagan, he left the GOP and from 1989 to 1993 only gave money to, and fund raised for democrat candidates, he voted for Paul Tsongas in 1992, he was giving to and fund raising for Planned Parenthood in 1994.
His father had run against Reagan for the Presidency in 1968, Romney and his father protested the victory of the conservatives at the 1964 GOP convention in which Goldwater was nominated and Reagan gave his famous speech. Romney was anti-conservative in every way during the first 59 years of his life.
“I’m not a partisan politician. My hope is that, after this election, it will be the moderates of both parties who will control the Senate, not the Jesse Helmses.”
These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense, Romney said. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.
“I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nations military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share.”
Do you think that Mitt was just merely confused a little about his core beliefs during the the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and the 2000s, until 2005 when he started his run for President?
At the end of WWII we didn’t have Medicare, SS had only been paying out for about 5 years and over 41% of the citizens were not on some kind of govt assistance. There were no credit cards so most people had very little personal debt. Our manufacturing base is not close to what it used to be.
We could balance the budget and payoff our debt but the austerity package would never be accepted by a large segment of the voting public. The legislators don’t have the backbone to do it. Its not going to happen. First we have to have the crash and then we will recover over time.
Yes, the government takeover of health care in Massachusetts was socialism on a massive scale.
Yes, he has pandered to the Gay lobby in general - delivering gay marriage using executive order when it had been rejected by both the legislators and the courts.
Yes he openly offered to sign a bill for the NAMBLA crowd forcing the Boy Scouts to accept gay scoutmasters if they could get the bill to his desk.
Yes he has hosted fundraisers for planned parenthood, and appointed lawyers who worked for them to the bench.
If those things represent your values, go ahead and vote for him. I will call you on those values. Particularly if he wins and continues to implement those things. Every time those issues come up, I will be pointing out that you got what you personally wanted.
Fear not, I do that IRL too - not just on the Internet. As anyone around here who voted for McCain will tell you.
There was a huge recession at the end of WW2. The economy contracted by 17%. However, the private sector began to rebuild as millions of servicemen moved into the workforce. We helped our European allies rebuild with Marshall Plan. We had 3 budget surpluses in 1947, 1948 and 1949. After that, the economy grew faster than the national debt. By 1970 the national debt was only 37% of GDP. We can so the same thing again that we did in the past. Grow the economy and keep spending low levels.
Just in case I’m right buy some food to put away. You will remember me well for the advice.
