If the GOP can pick up two seats in the House and one in the Senate, they'll have a 2/3 majority and a guaranteed quorum, even if Democrats were to boycott the Legislature.

Almost guaranteed. The TN Democrat Party is all but dead. The 140-year old House of Cards they built finally collapsed in the last cycle.

It’s sadly amusing watching the Tennessean, formerly just predictably arrogantly liberal & Democrat partisan rag up until the ‘90s (defending the “fairness” & “justness” of their party’s majority, built on fraud, deceit & disenfranchisement), turn into a shrill, ugly, decadent, morally depraved and viscerally ultraleft (not to mention ignorant and stupid) joke. Page after page of whining about and attacking constantly the Conservative ideology for which they cannot understand (with a merry band of morons from the letter-writing brigades with the collective IQ of a turnip — their talking points that often conclude with blaming Reagan for our $16 trillion debt and stating that Emperor Zero is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ).

As Tennessee becomes more and more sane (Conservative) and moves away from the diseased leftist ideology, the Tennessean becomes ever more enraged and sanctimonious, completely failing to come to terms with or acknowledge how out of touch they are. A premier example of the kind of people they are, I offer up the story of a Hispanic columnist that they imported some time ago, he was a protege of the repugnant Molly Ivins of Tejas. They similarly expected him to (poison) pen a regurgitated diatribe of leftist race-baiting and other hateful rhetoric to browbeat Whitey with...

Well, they got their wish. He did his hateful Hispanic Commie bit for a little while... and then something happened to him. Who knows what it was, all of a sudden, he started becoming a smidge more... reasonable. His columns, still left-of-center, were starting to show the telltale signs of questioning the orthodoxy. Their “Mexican” was starting to tiptoe off the reservation and the talking points. When that happened, the paper wasn’t happy at all.

His presence started to lessen, and eventually he was called the “Conservative” voice (even still as left-of-center !), to “diminish” him. A bit later, he got very very sick (which I believe depleted him of his finances) and the paper did little beyond a patronizing acknowledgement (I believe he was simply fired). Sadly, he died not long after (I think he was just in his 40s) and his passing barely mentioned by them. They were more offended he moved away from moonbatland. Their (former) token Chicano militant was more mourned in town by the Conservatives he was expected to villify daily than by these shameful leftists who kicked him to the curb when his body failed him. Their shamefulness knows no bounds, nor their hypocrisy.

Hey, but don’t get me wrong, the Tennessean is great for lining the litter box for my two cats... even if it leaves their paws a little red.
