(CBS News) Pastor Joel Osteen, one of America's most popular religious figures, said on "CBS This Morning" that GOP candidate Mitt Romney believes in Jesus like he does.
"What I see about Governor Romney is that he says, 'I believe Jesus Christ is the son of God, he's raised from the dead and he's my savior.' I see him as being a believer in Christ, like me."
Charlie Rose said, "That's enough for you?"
"That's enough for me," Osteen said. "There's differences in all religion. I realize Mormonism is different from Christianity, but you know what, he's a man of faith and values. And to me, that's strong."

Bill, she isn’t really Jewish either. She took the real easy way - the cult called Noahide.org. Typical feel good fluff.
oh my
This is a religion thread, where such things are mentioned.
- - - - -
Actually it is a GOP club thread. Sandy tried to sneak it in hoping to spread Mormonism and not get countered.
Agreed, but let me add a few more...
How about false prophecies? JS and others are guilty of such. Right there is an automatic Biblical disqualification. Anything they ever uttered, wrote, did, etc. is not of God.
So-called prophets claiming to have “proof” that God and Jesus have inherited their wives?
Baptizing the dead so that they can have a “second chance”?
Jesus destroying cities and massacring millions upon His resurrection so He could “save”?
The requirements to take out temple endowments, promise to engage in celestial polygamous sex in order to populate the planet you become a god of, etc., etc.
Ah, my apologies... the theme was religions and I didn’t check the forum ... should have known when someone accused me if being a neo-nazi...nasty people on this thread
You've forgotten how the mormons here wanted to force us to stop commenting when they declared their "hose the pigs" war? Is this all you have to live for is to whine and constantly play the victim card.
I’m asking you for facts. Please post them or stop wasting my time.
Osteen preaches success, health, wealth, Abrahamic blessings and self-esteem classes under the guise of preaching. His infrequent use of the Bible is almost always completely out of context and would be classified by any Bible-beleiver as abuse of scripture.
Osteen avoids discussions of sin, of eternal damnation/hell, he refuses to label what the Bible calls sin as sin, and completely obfuscate biblical truths for his flavor of pep-rally.
So when he identifies someone (anyone) as a “believer in Christ” like himself, that immediately throws up red flags. I suppose Osteen also identifies Obama as a “believer in Christ like him”...
Why do Mormons now want the name Christian?
For about 150 years they claimed to be a peculiar people and that Christians were an abonination in the sight of the Lord.
Why do Mormons now want the name Christian?
Will you still come out to play with me?
Yeah; you might say that safely.
(If you’re an adult; I shouldn’t be playing with you...)
Keep it up and the lash of a Noddly Appendage will be forthcoming in thine direction!
You have? When? Can you point to the threads and posts? I've been in some super-heated debates with various beliefs, and have apparently offended some, and never (that I am aware of) been "condemned to Hell" by anyone here on FR.
. But your defense of Joel Osteen, who's familiarity with the Bible and the absolute truth contained therein, is pretty scary. You mention the "witness of the Holy Ghost - Mormons use a similar argument. The Apostle Paul spoke on the issue of those coming and preaching "another gospel". Osteen is the perfect embodiment of such a teacher.
You is in a virtual petrified forest!
Thanks for the irrelevance !
Why?
Noah wasn't a JEW!
Or female...
