Obama has to run on his record this time not his skin color.
Obama is exempt from campaign finance laws so no Gingrich will not out do him in raising funds
You forgot the barf alert.
The surprise will be that Obama will raise less than most expect.
This is just another liberal circling the wagons for Obama.....quite a few articles in the last day or two doing this.
The media has always been on the Democrats side.
“tapping into both small time donors...”
I still think some of Obama’s “small time donors” in 2008 were likely fronts for Soros, etc. Just a gut feeling, of course.
As for 2012, the thing the author neglects to mention is that 2012 ain’t 2008. The GOP was politically toxic at the national level, McCain was a disaster, and Obama was able to sell himself as, if not as a centrist, at least as a “pragmatic liberal” to a lot of independents. I guarantee you the GOP nominee, whoever he or she is, will not have to take public funding like McCain. I also think it likely that Obama will find some 2008 supporter a little more reluctant to open their pocketbooks and wallets in 2012.
Whatever drove Ryan’s and Palin’s decision to opt out, I don’t think it was a fear that a Republican candidate couldn’t compete with Obama’s fundraising.
finally someone that reads more than headlines. GWB had more money in bank at the end of year three than “the one”
The GOP candidate does not need a billion dollars to defeat Obama. His approval numbers are in the toilet. Add that to the likely collapse of the EU before next Oct and Barry will be lucky if he can even get the Dem nomination. If you want to talk about a brokered convention it may end up being the Democratic convention. The Dims may balk at putting the loser up. Or my personal belief is that Barry will end up taking a pass on running if he sees a humiliating defeat coming his way.
Obama has a rock bottom voter %age of 42.That means he’s almost home. All he need do is demonize the GOP candidate just enough to move enough independents to his camp. He only needs the economy to begin to nudge toward recovery, and he can trumpet his war on al Queda to influence the indies.Palin and Ryan et al are smart and they can see the numbers. Palin knew her image had been damaged irreparably by the media and Ryan has the brains and the right ideas, but he lacks any recognition and charisma.Too much of the country is entwined with govt entitlements. (I too am in my first year of SS payments). This will cause a catastrophe in the years ahead, but most Americans aren’t looking past their next paycheck or entitlement check.IMO conservatives have lost this battle, at least in national elections.
For those that think $$ wins campaigns, remember that Meg Whitman spent a whopping $150 per voter and lost in the recent California governors race.
Every time the msm start harping on something in unison I know it’s phony sham. obama raising one billion is repeated like a mantra by the leftist media as though by saying it it’ll make it so. Wishful thinking I think. Most millionaires have gotten that way by not being dummies and the WH Occupeer is a one-termer every which way one looks at it. Why would these people contribute a billion dollars to a loser???? No, not buying it. Nothing more than media hype.
JMHO The Democrats don’t care if Obama wins another term. He will leave this Nation in such critical condition that the next POTUS and GOP Congress will be burdened for 4-8 years. The current DEM Reps & Senators are only interested in hanging on to their perks, power and positions....not fixing things.
No magic pills, just hard determined effort and repairs by the next POTUS and hopefully a conservative Congress that’s up to the task.
It’s gonna be painful.
Maybe when he loses after spending a billion, politics will return to substance rather than vote-buying.
uh dick morris said the incumbent having a billion isn’t that big deal.
THE INCUMBENT. EVERYONE KNOWS THE INCUMBENT.
it doesn’t matter. if Americans don’t like Obama, he will lose.
I don’t buy this BULL
he already did the Oprah thing, the 30 minute commercial thing.
Americans I believe are hungry for a leader who will have detailed
plans to cut the government, to have a balanced budget and
to reform entitlements so we don’t have grandma eating dogfood.
Obama ain’t it. He is a cipher for the 2nd term.
After all the years and all the money you poured into Social Security. I’m surprised you consider it an entitlement.
The people that have time to sit home and watch TV are going to vote for Obama anyway.
