Sarah Palin represents the clearest attempt to try to effect change in DC from the outside. That why she had,and still has, my complete support.

John Boehner would still be crying in the minority corner today if it were not for what Sarah did for the GOP in 2010.

I too am tired of the armchair warriors still taking pot shots at one who fought in the arena for three years, Sarah Palin.

Enough.

I think a lot of the vitriol is associated to the hurt some feel at her being run out of the presidential race.

Some people blame her or are simply crushed that she didn't fight more.

I don't know all of the forces behind her decision, but I'm sure they were more than considerable.

I respect her decision. It's a loss for our culture and our society, but maybe we need to do more ground work to pave the way for more Sarah Palins in the future.

I hadn’t really given it much thought, but you are right.
Mention Mrs. Palin’s name and some Troll will respond with, “Get Over It, She’s Not Running”.
Free Republic certainly has a hefty helping of Trolls and Liberal Lurkers waiting to pounch on your words.
Personally, I hope Sarah Palin changes her mind and enters the race soon.
There are currently NO acceptable GOP candidates, and I do not look forward to another 4 years of the Marxist in the White House.

Maybe there are folks that simply dislike her on a personal level.

Couldn’t it be no more complicated than that? A simple visceral personal dislike?

And again you make my point. All this hatred was there since day one. So why wait so long to verbalize the decision? I'm very serious. Sarah and her family knew long ago the implications of a presidential run, yet she chose to wait until the very last minute to make a decision? I think she saw polls that weren't optimistic and chose a comfortable route rather than put up a fight. Thank goodness the other candidates didn't do the same or Romney would be a lock right now. And a more important point regarding this site. Why do folks have to go into a personal attack mode when a different opinion on Sarah Palin is expressed?

Could you at least admit that there is a chance that she got complacent after earning a fortune and lost the edge to put up a fight?

As a former Palin supporter, I will agree that is the LEAST of what happened, and the MOST charitable explanation.

The least charitable is that she ran and hid from the death threats. I believe that's REALLY what happened. And sadly, we cannot have a president with that kind of cowardice, so she's now unqualified in my mind.

Lots, and lots of Mitt flacks in disguise.

Mitt is the Alinsky.

All of the nasty campaigning is coming from Romney. Romney is the problem. Imo.

Romney = Occam’s Razor.

We all have supposedly ONE goal in mind, and that is taking back the White House from Obama and the Marxists, that should be our goal

Agreed. Because there is no perfect candidate, we should respect the "11th Commandment." Frankly, I'm very suspicious of anyone who comes here and starts bashing other Republicans. If I prefer one candidate over another, I will emphasize the good points of my candidate rather than throwing knives at yours. At times it seems we are standing in a circle and shooting at each other. The target here is not another Republican candidate, or his supporters. The target is the current occupant of the White House. Let's try to keep our priorities straight.

Because it’s easier to do that than to admit the rest of the field has been rather unimpressive.

I bet your parents had to strap a pork chop around your neck to get the dog to play with you

You post this, and then proceed to tell the guy you're posting to how stupid he is? The irony is strong in you it is.

Boy, oh boy! Get to the bomb shelter immediately! Incoming attacks are imminent!!!...I’d still lean towards my opinion, but thanks for having the guts to venture into hostile territory.

Some of the worst vitriol I saw directed at Palin came from some of her most most ardent supporters here on FR, on the day she announced she would not seek the nomination.

Thirteen months before the election is "last minute?" Do you ever read your own posts and think about whether they make any sense?

It's a lot less, there are a few left who can't shut up though. They embody a spirit of snark and slime that's hard to comprehend. Simply put, they're unhinged.

I have never considered her decision as cowardice, never felt she led people on, and hold no ill thoughts toward how she handled herself.

I wish her well, hope she continues in her quest to help conservatives get elected, and want her to succeed in all she does.

She was a lightning rod for all of us, got (and still gets) in the face of the left when few others would. Kudos to her and her family.

I am a fourth of the way through his latest, Castigo Cay.

I had no idea what I was missing, and I love it!

Reminds me of the early Travis McGee novels in a way, and I am glad, for a while I thought the Doc Ford series was to be the modern day Travis McGee but Randy White seems to be losing his touch or style.

Definitely getting all his books on the Kindle.

Travis McGee if you read this thread I am sorry I put off buying your work, I swear I will pass on the good word from now on, and thanks.
