People have been asking me all week if conservatives will stick with Herman Cain, but I think he's got a bigger problem than the conservative vote. A lot more women than conservatives vote, and the women I've talked to are finished with him.
There's a new CBS poll which says that 38 percent of female Republican primary voters are "less likely to back him" now that more accusers have come forward. Among all registered voters, CBS reports that Cain has lost support among women since last monthfrom 28 percent in October to 15 percent now. My sense is that 15 percent of female registered voters remaining as Cain supporters may be a little high, because the poll was conducted before Cain's attorney started threatening any other potential accusers with the notion that they'd better "think twice" before coming forward.
This whole thing is a shame, because so many of us liked Herman Cain's ideas and business experience. I've been defending him for the last few weeks as he spoke out against the anonymous and vague charges. But they're not anonymous and vague anymore. There are faces, and names, and ugly stories to match. As Kathleen Parker put it, three accusers is a trend. Four is a tipping point.
Women who have worked in politics have seen his type beforecasual with staff, jocular, kind of schmoozy. Fun at first, but then it becomes clear that they don't think the rules apply to them. After a while, there's an arrogance that sets in. Washington is full of bosses like that. I've worked for several.
Women don't like to talk about being sexually harassed because it's embarrassing. Life moves on and most of us would rather put bad incidents behind us. So for busy womenat least one of the accusers is a single mom with a teenage sonto come forward years later isn't easy. The fact that they're contemplating doing a joint press conference says to me they realize how high the stakes are, after they saw how Sharon Bialek's personal finances and work history were trashed. Safety in numbers.
These accusers who have come forward are about my age, and they seem very credible to me. They're not selling their stories to tabloids. They're not random women from all over the country, like some of former President Bill Clinton's accusers were. They all worked with Herman Cain specifically when he was at the Restaurant Association. They seem believable to me, and right now, he does not. I'm not defending him anymore.
Dang, first comment nailed it.
No Romney, no way.
Why should I care what this bee-otch says?
“ANYBODY goes up against zero gets my vote. Including Ron Paul.
What a crazy, whacked out country wed be under Paul, when I think about it. People growing weed in their mailbox planters.
Under Romney, wed be under constant attack threat with his jello spine. Same for Newt.”
Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
Under Perry, who makes no bones about who his enemies are, well see the Fedocracy smacked back down to what the Constitution provided for them: zero.
Good grief, quoting Kathleen Parker? I can’t take any article seriously that gets guidance from that putrid glob of snot. Always ‘pretending’ she’s speaking as a conservative, while knifing real conservatives in the back. Loathesome, loathesome woman.
Men can be stupid too!
At this point I still support Herman Cain. I think if there was any truth to the present allegations those women would not have waited until now to come forth. I would not have but would have done so as soon as he announced his intentions to run. You know, so he would not have the opportunity to have a bimbo on the campaign trail with him like Edwards did. : )
Because you're still salivating about Palin.
Where did that two million dollars go, bud? Paid yer rent yet?
Who is humblegunner supporting?
Is that important? Must I salivate and give up my life for some politician?
Sorry. I'm not emotionally involved with any candidate.
That crap is unhealthy.

Actually, I ignored most of it! It seemed too “today’s nice to women” post to me...without any actual positive statements regarding your opinions.
It was simply just another today’s statement, anti-men but I thought that since it was written here that probably you were just mistaken and trying to get along.
Now, it seems that you are not only getting along but going along with today’s psychologists.
Good luck...
The only reason not to support Cain is that he is full believer in no regulations for wall street because they can do no wrong mentality. The evidence says otherwise. Those who don’t see what the wall street bankers have done to this country since they managed to bribe congress into dissolving Glass steagall are truly blind. their kind of “Creative financing” is usury and robbery-plain and simple. And even at that they still resort to breaking the law because they can get away with it. We as a country cannot survive it if it is not changed.
Our founders even warned us. But we choose not to see.
You missed the fourth one - quoting Kathleen Parker.
Women can be stupid, but this one is sticking with Cain
Good for you, you go girl.\
I don’t know for sure what the truth is in any of this cases, but if all anyone have to do is trot out somebody that will claim that this guy or that tuched me or made a shady proposition and no proof is needed, and thar’s all she wrote, then we might as well give it all to Obama and find a cave somewhere, So I urge all of you to hang in there, and no mather who the Republican nominee is, suport him/her
I’m with Cain!
Agree that is why they should’nt vote!!
Classy! Poking fun at a disabled veteran with financial problems. Maybe you should go down to the orphanage tomorrow and tell the kids there that if they weren’t so naughty their parents would still be alive, or go make fun of the cancer patients in your local hospital. Or lure a seeing eye dog away from a blind lady with some table scraps. You’ll think of something, I’m sure!
Could you translate that into English for me?
I sent a letter to the editor and gave them a piece of my mind.
Or maybe was that just bull? You know, fake bluster?
Was it maybe more like eighteen dollars?
That was ALL I needed to know and didn't bother to read any further.
Sorry, but appealing to your problems is not the way to convince people... You are on your own regardless of your assets and/or liabilities... that is the way is it going to be in the future... Better get use to it... Things are breaking down more quickly that you and I can imagine.
