actually, it’ll be hillary
no GOP contenders right now have a chance of winning the ticket. yes, that’s unbelievable but true. here’s how it lays out:
to win, you must get your base out and either grab more then 50% of the independents or pull from the opposing parties base. basic rules.
perry is weak and most likely won’t last.
that leaves romney and cain.
the left wants romney, as they know in the general they will promote his mormonism and the far right will stay home.
if cain gets the nomination, then the left will play up how ‘black’ he is hoping to keep the far right home. the only problem would be potentially losing the votes in their base and possibility some independents. they will recover the independents by pushing cain’s a rich guy. close, but a loss for the GOP
meanwhile on the left, if 0bama steps up to run again, people will demand the ‘natural born’ status to be examined. he won’t want that and will step back.
that leaves hillary. she’s been positioning for a few months... we’ll see.
at this point, the left has a lock on 2012. only Sarah can change the game. if she runs independent, she will get the entire TEA party along with many independents. the question remains how much of the right belong to the TEA party... but there are plenty of independents in it for certain. she could also pull at the woman vote on the left, but not the pro-abortion vote. she might only get 20% of the women on the left, but it’s enough to make a problem for the DNC.
she said she would do it different. hell, i’d suggest she comes out swinging... “you want change? how about this” and announce in march or april. the media would go into overdrive trying to undermine her... which is free publicity. who needs a massive campaign warchest when you get the media free?
just the way i see it right now
In the last two years, some folks who don't particularly care for Palin have become obvious.
Do you think maybe you might be confusing the two?
Not for nothing but what ever happened to her lawsuit threats over the McGinnis book? Timing is coincidental and I was raised to question coincidene.

Current problems are the result of current thinking."

“Why not just pull the stick for obama? The net is the same.”
No it is not.
Of course it is...you know it.
Try this for reality:
We presently have zero candidates for the office of president that have the desire, or the intelligence to recognize and take the necessary actions to preserve the nation in a free functioning state.
(please control your orgasm)

The sets appear to be congruent.
As much as I wish she would have run since she’s taken herself out of the race she’s nothing more than a political pundit to me now.
Albeit one that I agree with pretty much all the time but then again I don’t need someone to tell me what to think.
She had a chance to truly make a difference and she chose not to, time to move on.
Palin has proven her understanding through her many addresses to the public.
Please direct me to the evidence that any of the current candidates have the understanding and desire to correct the central problems that have brought us to this point.
Perry, Romney, and Ginrich have clearly demonstrated their desire to prevent the needed corrections. The rest have at least failed to address them.
her decision was to not run for the GOP nomination
why would she? they’ve given her no support, cover, or backing since 2008. they haven’t even mentioned that maybe, just maybe, national figures shouldn’t promote the gang raping of teenage girls.
the establishment GOP needs to be dissolved. period.
Come January 20, 2013 she will storm the Capitol with her acolytes, rip the Bible from Zero's hands, and swear herself in as President.
You heard it here first!
Nope, if I ‘write-in’ Palin’s name, I will be intensely proud of my vote and sleep very, very well at night. I’m not pulling the lever for yet another approved-by-the-establishment GOP bastard like Romney who will get into office and undermine all the issues I believe in. I’ve been burned too many times, and have truly, truly reached the breaking point.
If the country proceeds to go up in flames, and the streets run red with blood... I guarantee you I won’t give a single, solitary damn. It’s not as if the country is likely salvageable at this point anyway.
Leftist operatives and folks who don't care for Palin are the same?
Wow.
No. Sitting home and sulking would be the same. Throwing the establishment’s bowls of slop back in their faces is an act of protest. Sooner or later it begins, either in 2012 or in 2013.
“the establishment GOP needs to be dissolved. period.”
I do not believe they will be beaten down or removed from their bunkers. They hold and will continue to hold authority within the party machine. They and the machine will eventually be abandoned. Not before 2013, but perhaps that soon. It will come, because they will not be reformed or removed. This year was the opportunity, and they have won every battles against the base.
Sorry for not replying to any of the posts on the thread, but I had to run out to service a customer right after I posted.
I must say that I’m surprised at the response this post got. I really didn’t expect more than maybe a dozen hits, and only put it up for those Palinistas who might feel compelled to respectfully ask the Governor to change her mind about running.
For what it’s worth, I’m living in the real world, and am ready to give my support to Herman Cain for the nomination.
That doesn’t mean I’m not keeping my options open, in case something goes cataclysmically wrong, like Romney surging ahead in the voting, or Herman Cain doing a swan dive, ala Perry.
Palin wouldn’t be the first person to ever need persuading to enter a presidential race. Dwight Eisenhower repeatedly said no to appeals from supporters. He finally answered the call when he was drafted at the nominating convention.
I don’t know if she can be persuaded, but she left the door open a few weeks ago in an interview on the Mark & Bob show, when she said “it would take an earthquake” for her to change her mind. Some folks heard that, and decided to produce that earthquake.
There’s a good chance that nothing will come of this effort, but at least it gives me the opportunity to let her know how I feel about her decision. I’m under no illusion that she’ll actually answer the call. At least she’ll know that many of us asked her to serve.
