I think Perry attempted to compensate for his poor debating skills by acting overly assertive and tough. I don’t think he is a jerk at all, but he has come off that way. It just hasn’t played well. Never let anyone say debates don’t matter. Perry is a perfect example of someone who’s fortunes collapsed with bad debate performances, and Cain has had just the opposite experience with his “happy warrior” debate style.
Perry, just like me, has no idea what the hell a casserole committee is. As expected a bunch of Obama voters don't like Perry, that's not a bad thing. Personally I like the guy and agree with 90% of his views. I feel the same way about Cain. I don't think Herman gets on the committee either.
My husband was a classmate of Perry’s at A&M. He was an asshole.

I don’t like Perry for a couple of reasons - big reasons - first, I don’t like it that he was Al Gore’s point man for Texas - and I also don’t like him hiding behind that pastor to disrespect The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - and I don’t like him hiding behind his wife for the same reason. Plus he creeps me out.
Wouldn't mind seeing that headline once in awhile.

His reaction to his preacher’s Mormon smear certainly moved me towards that position. A president should be better then that. From the strength of the drop-off afterward I don’t think I was alone in that reaction.

He really needs to do interviews that are relaxed and genuine. See the Piers Morgan interviews that made both Christy and Cain seem likeable. I thought his interview with Bill O last night was very good and Perry was more likeable when he smiled. He needs to do these interviews every night.
