Dennis Miller Endorses Herman Cain: ‘Can I Tell You How Jazzed I Am About This Cat?’

Conservative talk show host and SNL alum Dennis Miller officially endorsed Herman Cain today on his radio program.

“Can I tell you how jazzed I am about this cat? How proud I am of him hanging in there?” Miller gushed in regards to the former Godfather Pizza CEO. “This guy’s the one who makes sense to me, he’s a sweet man, he’s not self-aggrandizing. When the results (of the Florida Straw Poll) came in, I was over the moon.”

Miller suggested an idea for Herman Cain’s next bumper sticker: “Cain Versus Not Able.”

“I’d like to thank (Dennis Miller) for his support,” Cain said on his official Twitter feed. “I look forward to working with him as we continue our journey to the White House!”

Cain has been on a roll since his strong debate performance last Thursday and his victory in the Florida Straw Poll. Miller’s endorsement is sure to add more spring to the former pizza king’s step.

"within jazz, it is quite a compliment"

So Dennis Miller and Herman Cain are both jazz musicians?

I had no idea.

Cain flunks the gun rights test.

Although Cain says he supports the Second Amendment, in the next breath he says he fully supports any and all state gun control/prohibitions.

That is like supporting federal rights for women and blacks, but allowing women and blacks to be slaves if the state laws permit them to be slaves.

I will not support any candidate who allows, and favors, individual states to outlaw guns, or to take away womens voting rights, or to allow slavery, or to prohibit free speech, etc. .

“I like Dennis, but he far too steeped in Hollyweird and that is a smell that is hard to wash off.”

Dennis is a conservative - he’s talked about his “conversion” before - and has often made fun of his fellow Hollywoodians and CA in general.

“That’s what got me to wondering if he’s too “nice” to do battle with all these terrible people in the Establishment.”

LOL - not to worry. Have you ever seen him fired up? He can be as stern and impassioned as (or more than) the best of them. He’d eat BHO’s lunch in debate and we’d LOVE to see it!

I’m a huge fan of Dennis Miller, and he meant that HC has a kind and decent spirit. But he’s a fierce fighter against the Dark Side.

“Is any other Presidential candidate called “cat”? Miller may earn his living by saying things other people would not say, but this is not respectful.”

DM just speaks the way a lot of jazz musicians always spoke. Are you old enough to remember the term “cool cat” (sometimes spelled Kool Kat)? I am and so is HC (old enough to remember, that is). It’s complimentary.

IMHO, Dennis Miller is one of those cool cats as is Herman :-)

Hey, I like Dennis Miller too. He even used my CAIN VS UNABLE slogan on the BOR show.

How cool is that?

In contrast stand the facts of what he actually said, in context:

BLITZER: All right. Let’s talk about gun control. Do you support any gun control?

CAIN: I support the Second Amendment.

BLITZER: So you don’t — so what’s the answer on gun control?

CAIN: The answer on gun control is I support strong — strongly support the Second Amendment. I don’t support, you know, onerous legislation that’s going to restrict people’s rights in order to be able to protect themselves as guaranteed by the Second Amendment.

BLITZER: Should states or local governments be allowed to control the gun situation? Or should...

CAIN: Yes.

BLITZER: The answer is yes?

CAIN: The answer is yes. That should be a state’s decision.
