LOL!
I thought that was a howler, too.
I think that when people have somebody they really hate in office (i.e., Obama), they look upon former unlikeable candidates with fondness simply because anything looks better than what they have now.
If she got out there and ran, I suspect she wouldn’t be popular at all; furthermore, she is tainted by her association with Obama and her failure to establish any kind of coherent foreign policy approach. She is clearly powerless in the administration, much more so than any previous SOS, and I think it would be hard for her to explain this away.
In our area (rural PA), there are lots of seniors. They actually like Hillary. They probably liked Bill Clinton too but they don’t talk about that.
They don’t like Obama.
In 2012, if Obama’s the Dem candidate, my county will go for any Republican. If it’s Hillary...it’s a tossup.
They’re people I otherwise respect...staunch churchgoing pro-life older folks who have basically conservative views. I don’t understand why, but they approve of her.
Yes, even Catholics. Bring up Hillary’s pro-abort views and they roll their eyes like you’re a radical.
Yes, even gun owners.
She is Teflon-coated here. We have Bibles, coal stoves, few gays, lots of guns, churches on every side of you, and people still in their first marriage after decades have passed. We’re talking Aunt Bee’s Mayberry.
But they are ok with Hillary. :(
