After Wednesday's all-day drama surrounding Saturday's Tea Party rally in Indianola, Iowa -- with headliner Sarah Palin reportedly ready to cancel her scheduled appearance -- Palin's fans were understandably perplexed.
It appeared that the event's organizers, a new group called Tea Party of America founded by Ken Crow, had provoked an unnecessary controversy by a last-minute decision to add former Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell to the rally schedule. Tuesday, O'Donnell was disinvited and then re-invited, and by Wednesday morning, Palin's participation in the event was reported to be "on hold." Then O'Donnell was finally disinvited and, at last word, Palin had agreed to go on with Saturday's show.
The very public controversy seemed almost perfectly calculated to promote the media's stereotype of Palin as difficult and demanding. NBC News reported:
Tea Party of America President Ken Crow told NBC News, "I had to cancel Ms. O'Donnell" after a conversation with Sarah Palin aides - and is now hopeful Palin will attend the Saturday rally in Indianola.
He was told by Palin's team that he'd have a final answer shortly.
This comes after failed Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell was in, then out, then back in, and now indefinitely out. And Palin was in, then "on hold."
Daily Caller reported:
An organizer of the much-publicized tea party rally in Iowa this weekend says Sarah Palin would not be doing herself any favors if she drops out of the event.
"I hope that isn't so...It would hurt her more than hurt us," event organizer Ken Crow, the co-founder and president of the Tea Party of America, told TheDC...

I am a little angered at all of the Bachmann RINO former democrat name calling by these Palin supporters. In case you can’t tell.
Jesus could run and they would call him a RINO. So don’t you gosh darned dare judge my character before the Palin supporters all apologize for calling Bachmann RINO.I’ll leave the thread now so ya’ll can make up more lies and innuendo.
I would love to see it. I went googling to see if I could find it and found interesting tidbits like a nasty email from Todd to Joe Miller over JM not thinking SP was qualified to be POTUS.
Sometimes it might be wise for supporters to be careful on what they say without proof. lol
If this were Bachmann sitting on the fence and Palin was solidly running and you and I came on here posting Bachmanns every thought and saying IHEARTBachmann she is the only one, and Bachmann pulls in on her bus and bashes the straw poll results saying the people did not chose and I posted a huge graphic of Bachmann saying she will win,she was there first, she is already President. I would be called bat ape crazy nuts and laughed out of here. But they dont see themselves this way and I wonder why and if many are plants from DU land as no one is this sickening nuts.
You nailed it.
I no longer see a Palin/Perry ticket as a possibility.
A Perry/Palin ticket remains possible, but unlikely.
Who is behind this ‘new’ Tea Party as well? Many of us knew the minute the busy-body control freaks started trying to ‘organize’ and start PACs that they would essentially mess up what was a true grassroots movement. I consider myself ‘tea party’, but I don’t remember ever ‘electing; this Crow dude or any of the other so called ‘leaders’ of various groups!
There are too many ‘T Party’ groups and me thinks some of them are fronts meant to divide and conquer or be co-opted by the politicians and old guard elites.
I was being sarcastic on the use of “True Conservative” because so many throw that and the term RINO around. I’ve been in a couple of threads where it’s abused on a wide basis.
No I don’t get it wrong. I woke up from the Palin hype and started looking at all the stuff people invested in her were constantly defending and finally saw what was there. When she has people she endorses not be able to say she’s qualified for POTUS, *cough*JoeMiller*cough it is wise to find out why.
She did quit the Oil and Gas commission. Someone in one of these threads said she had fulfilled all her campaign goals which was the same excuse she gave for resigning as governor. Hey I can’t help it if that is one of the defenses used to make cover for her quitting when it got too hot.
It’s laughable that you think simply comparing the records of SP and RP is a rant. LOL Facts are facts, whether you like them or not.
Why don't you lead by example and stop all of your own name-calling?
Nah, it's just easier to complain about the dirty tactics of the other side as you spray your mud about in all directions.
I suspect the closest to an actual founder would be Rick Santelli, the CNBC analyst who exploded with a wonderful rant on air.
Yep, In my book, the ONLY person who deserves anything close to the title of "Founder" for the Tea Party is Santelli. Any self-respecting politician, if credited by fans as being its founder, would immediately and politely thank them for the intended compliment but make it very clear that THE PEOPLE, fired up by Santelli's remarks, founded the Tea Party.
Would anyone believe the truth if it was posted? Not after reading these threads. Any Freeper who comes to the event can ask me live in person. They will know. But I will say this 100% of the speculation is wrong. On every post and every side. Not even close to the reality.
She's shown she can speak over and around the Left and their mouthpieces. Wherever she goes and whatever she does, she has to do that.
I think she can be very successful doing so.
Contrast that with the daily and relentless bashing by the Left.
