I think they will and are.
I’m currently not a Texan, but grew up there. Went to A&M. I do not like Perry. He’s a slimy politician. I would probably pick Romney over Perry, and I’m not a big Romney fan.
Don’t know who I’ll be for this time around. I’m liking Michelle Bachmann and Herman Cain.
Sadly, Perry probably has the best chance of anyone now running to unseat Obama.
Perry is deeply flawed, but if he can Barry out of the WH, so be it.
The Lord sometimes uses scoundrels to accomplish His purposes, so who am I?
I have a relative in Texas who knows Perry, but doesn’t like him.
He is supporting Romney.
I like Texans. They are good people and I even like them when they are boasting about Texas, especially when you can see in their eyes they dont realy believe what they are saying either, but its fun! Its when Texans believe their own Tall Tales to be true that I get to were I cant stand them. Texas has produced only one really good President and that was Sam Houston and he was just President of Texas not the Union. And then what did they do to him? Forced him out as Governor when he refused to take Texas out of the Union. How did that work out?
Perry beat Sanchez by 18 points
He beat Bell by 10 points (in a four way race with Rino Strayhorn and quirky libertarian Kinky Friedman)
He beat White by 12 points
He also beat Rino Kay Baily Hutchison by 22 points in the Republican Primary
These are just facts of how the people of Texas voted
I have worked with Governor Perry and his staff as a government employee and as a member of my county’s ad hoc commissions on several issues as well as local Tea Party efforts. I have found him to be the genuine article.
I can understand how a lot of people who were not raised among the sons of the soil, the salt of the earth, can perceive him as phony. They’ve only seen cowboy types presented by fakes on tv and at the movies trying to play pretend. And they don’t realize he’s speaking from the heart.
I am amused by this statement:
“He blows in whichever way the political wind blows,” said Tammy Blair”
Some folks don’t realize that the ‘political’ winds change when the polition actually listens to his constituents. I’ve been in the room and seen him swayed. And back when he was a democrat I stood in the Texas gallery and watched him stand firm on Tort Reform as the Texas Trial Lawyers stood in the gallery and tried to stare him him and others down. After that they crucified him, and that’s when he switched parties because of his conservative stances.
I’ve got friends in Texas and they Detest this faux conservative.
Mr. Good-Hair’s attempt at papering over his checked past where conservative issues are concerned and creating a false-image of a Tea-Party conservative is going to fail miserably.,
Everything is just a smoke screen....the bottom line is jobs, jobs, jobs, and the economy, economy, economy....Rick Perry has continued and bettered the environment for jobs and the economy in Texas...the rest is smoke and mirrors.....Americans do not give a hoot about the rest of the garbage...it’s jobs and the economy stupid...that’s the bottom line....
As a Texan I have serious reservations about Perry. He seems all to comfortable using the government to achieve what he believes are desireable ends. That said, I believe that he can be controlled by conservatives and I would vote for him in the general if he wins the primary.
Currently my favorite candidate is Bachmann but all bets are off if Sarah enters the contest. Huntsman and Romney I will not vote for under any circumstances, period. I held my nose and voted McCain and have regretted it ever since.
