President Barack Obama's chief campaign strategist is dismissive of the Republicans who want his boss' job, saying they are eager to criticize the Democratic incumbent without offering substantive ways to help the country.
David Axelrod says it's too early to start sizing up the competition, but he took on the emerging field of candidates when asked to assess the GOP' first major debate of the campaign season last Monday in New Hampshire. Republicans at that forum condemned Obama's handling of the economy and pledged to repeal his health care overhaul....

if they’re scared to run against anybody it’s Huntsman...I certainly would be !
Go Jon !
really? What exactly is conservative about Huntsman, Republican as well. Very interested in your take
Republicans don’t like the fact that he increased his state budget, while cutting taxes, putting Utah in one of the most solid financial positions in the country? You don’t like that he has one of the highest ratings in the country as Governor from the CATO Institute? You don’t like that he has executive experience, foreign policy experience AND a record of fiscal governance that would make any conservative proud? That he is a billionaire, who oversees his own Cancer Foundation?
America is a center-right country, Huntsman is strongly pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment and a fiscal conservative with a long record of accomplishment not just as a 2 term governor of Utah [with an 80% approval rating]; he’s also served in Reagan, G.H.W. Bush and G.W Bush’s administration in numerous positions in commerce and trade. This guy knows his stuff and WE NEED a President like that.
When Obama appointed Huntsman, DC insiders thought they’d knocked Huntsman’s candidacy out of the water, congratulated Obama on his shrewd move.
Huntsman is also perhaps the single American politician who most understands the nation which will most prominently figure in America’s future - for good or otherwise:
The People’s Republic of China.
The sooner America begins to correct our national blindness and start dealing rationally with history’s largest single communist nation which is rapidly aiming to knock America from the world stage - the better.
Haven’t heard Huntsman’s international trade positions yet, but he would certainly be in a position to understand the gravity of what we face.
Rather than ignoring the HUGH issue - as everyone seems determined to do.
Why? He sounds effeminate, is so civil that he acts like politics is not the rough sport that it is, and (I think) looks a little weird. OK, so he speaks Chinese. Applause, applause. No, maybe just one clap, not two.
How can he be surprised when his boss is funding Huntsman’s opening GOP bid? Ludicrous!
Huntsman is what you call a cool operator with a “deadly” CEO knack for getting things done. His record of accomplishment and vast experience in both governance and foreign policy must speak volumes for someone who doesn’t know how to do politics.
Personally I couldn’t care less if the man were deaf, mute and blind as long as he knows his stuff - AND how to create jobs.
Heres a segment from Katrina Trinkos op-ed at the National Review, Which GOP Candidate Has the Best Job-Growth Record?:
“During Huntsmans tenure, January 2005 to August 2009, Utah had the best overall job-growth rate of any state in the nation. In that same time frame, Perrys job-growth rate was 4.9 percent. Pawlentys job-growth rate was negative: The number of jobs in Minnesota decreased by 1.8 percent.”
Huntsman has been too long in a very non-expressive culture.
He needs to lose the reserve, and be more like Donald Trump.
That will be difficult for him to do. Just as one experiences culture shock going someplace very different - the exact opposite happens returning.
Huntsman seems to still be in that process. He needs to lose that reserve, NOW.
If he does, he could be very good for America, and the GOP.
Huntsman reportedly gave thousands for the Reid election as did the NRA. No credit for either. Didn’t baroness de Rothchild say something about donating 1.2 million dollars for Huntsman’s campaign? This is of the same bank family that gave Soros start up funding, gave funding to start the Rockefeller dynasty which culminated in the UN being located in NYC and has for centuries been involved in financing wars to benefit their banking interests.Huntsman is an internationalist by religion and business. Worst for my thoughts he explains being a lap dog for Obama in China as just doing his job as an ordinary citizen. He is a shill for the cabal that is behind Obama much like McCain was.
