Romney is many things... But he is not a Tea Party candidate.
However, the fact that he wants to be, says a lot for the strength of the Tea Party.

Mitt Romney says he can appeal to Tea Partiers, even though activists and groups aligned with the movement are stressing that they need to defeat him in 2012. Mitt, you are what people think you are and you as a seasoned politician should know this more than most.

He may line up with the Tea Party on certain issues. I don’t know and it doesn’t matter. Romney is wrong on enough issues like health care to cast doubt on his judgement. I think even RINOs that like him would have to admit they don’t trust him.
