This disarray in the Republican Party has reached some dizzying depth, Bill OReilly explained last night, as no candidate or public official has taken hold of the party. With several candidates as long shots or complete unknowns, OReilly concluded Mitt Romney had the best chance, but no one was going to defeat President Obama without having a little Trump in them.
OReilly began his program last night with a quick evaluation of each candidate left: Newt Gingrich is done as a serious candidate, he explained, why Rep. Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain and Rick Santorum were long shots. Sarah Palin could be a game-changer, he predicted, but nobody knows what the heck shes going to do. This left Romney is the strongest position, but even he was severely vulnerable. OReilly also took the chance to argue that it really isnt early in the race. Summers going to fly by, he noted, leaving not so much time for fundraising.
OReilly then welcomed Chris Wallace, who seemed to find OReillys scenario prematurely dire. Its much more competitive than that, Wallace warned, youre overstating the disarray. Wallace noted that Texas governor Rick Perry could be the frontrunner if he jumps into the race, though OReilly argued that there was a serious deficit of name recognition on his part. Youve got fiefdoms all over the place, OReilly explained, such that there was no unified leader. He also finally got to the bigger unknown in the race, Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty, who he said he liked but needed a little Trump in him. The guy is invisible, you cant even see him! OReilly joked. Wallace, who is interviewing Pawlenty on Fox News Sunday this week, thanked OReilly for the soundbite and once again downplayed his statements, noting Pawlenty has been trying to become more vocal in his attacks on President Obama.

To move to the center as Rhomney has, in the primary with as many conservative leaders as we have in our party you have to be one arrogant SOB.
You have to think that the conservative vote is useless, meaningless, and that you can win without us. Or, that you are so majestic we will vote for you anyway.
Mitts majesty escapes me. Hard to imagine anyone getting a contrived vote like that.
This guy is not a rino hes a super rino.
Unfortunately, Bill, two out of the three best-known people who’ve had a little Trump in them are Ivana and Melania, and they’re both ineligible. Draft Marla Maples, anyone?
O’Reilly is a liberal asshole!
Whats even worse is if Romney gets the nomination we will then be subjected to Obama and Romney arguing over which one of them can drive us over the cliff faster. Each of them thinking that that is what we want.
If Romney gets elected ,being driven over the cliff is not what WE want. But if he is elected it is obviously what a lot of so-called Republicans want.
Myth is someone they can control....
That’s because BOR is a bleeding idiot, RINO, not a conservative, and not on our side.

That's a great point. Of all the GOP candidates, he's the last one I want to see get the nomination. Well....toss-up between him and Perry. Perry is basically Mitt without the Temple Garments.
But you would think he'd at least PRETEND to be conservative knowing all the anxiety about him on the right. Things like the Global Warming statement seem designed to distance him from the right. If he thinks he can do that at this point, on top of his other flaws he's a very poor political tactician.

Ummm...BOR can’t be a RINO because he explicitly states that he isnt a Republican. He also explicitly denies being a conservative.
He’s a run-of-the-mill populist with some traditionalist views, but they aren’t vey pronounced. I find him very entertaining, but he isn’t pretending to be a conservative standard-bearer and should be evaluated as one.
Hank
Well, that’s what I get for talking about someone I haven’t watched but once, and that was 5-6 years ago, LOL! Thanks for the info, Hank.
I still don’t like him.
Repeated for truth.

It is precisely comments like this one - - “GOP race Romneys to lose” - - that cause Rush and others to look at O’Reilly and see Ted Baxter.
Romney is down right scary. He doesn’t care a thing about the conservative vote. He is running as a Massachusetts republican with a small r , like a Libertarian with a small l.
I am sure that the WA State Republicans are getting ready to back him, too. It’s maddening. They backed McCain, and now it’s going to be Romney. The WA state people on FreeRepublic won’t reply when I ask them about it. Just dead silence.
Democrats are touting Mitt because he sees things their way. He's a slightly different model of the McCain version GOP candidate. At best he's an elitist with $$ connections, not unlike Obama himself.
Romney lands big donors (including a Pawlenty fundraiser)
Snip: Romney, who collected more than $100 million in 2008, has recruited at least 18 heavy-hitters (or whales in the political fundraising parlance) to help him secure the nomination this time around
I guess what worries me the most is along with the rinos trying to get their guy in, the left, dems, are also trying their best to pick our candidate. They probably realize that the dear leader has seen his days and they were and are failed.
LLS
OReilly is a jerk!
If Mittens gets the nomination, I’m not voting for him. No way, no how. He’s a younger version of McCain. No thank you!
