This could be some of the early shots in the contest for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination.
On Tuesday’s “Kilmeade and Friends” on the Fox News Radio network, former Huckabee campaign manager Ed Rollins, who signed up with potential presidential candidate Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann on Monday, explained why he decided to join the Bachmann camp.
“Well I’m going to work for Michele Bachmann if she runs,” Rollins said. “That’s the one that intrigues me the most at this point and I think to a certain extent she’s articulate, she’s a conservative. She’s got a great story to tell. She’s on the Intelligence Committee. You know, she’s unknown to the national audience, but she’ll become known and that’s the candidacy that I’m going to work for if she runs.”
But Rollins, with his own history of playing offense in presidential campaigns, took a few shots at former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who could be a potential rival for Bachmann.
“Sarah has not been serious over the last couple of years,” Rollins said. “She got the vice-presidential thing handed to her. She didn’t go to work in the sense of trying gain more substance. She gave up her governorship. You know, I think Michele Bachmann and others have worked hard. She has been a leader of the Tea Party, which is a very important element here. She’s an attorney, done extraordinary things with family values and what have you. So I think she will connect. She’s a great, great communicator and I would say in the race right [now] today, she is probably the best communicator.”

How do we know that he isn’t articulating Bachmann’s views exactly?
Please offer some proof that Rollins is a rino. Reagan was rather fond of him, so I’m inclined to skepticism on this one.
Coming from one of FR’s leading RINO apologists, that’s pretty funny, but I’ll be glad to provide it to you, I just doubt you’ll give much of a fig.

Stick to the facts. Cutting at me accomplishes nothing. Let’s hear why Rollins is such a rino instead.
I like this lady but she is not going to be the president of this country. I would not vote for her for that position - another one maybe.
I believe several have, which serves as a source of some of the antagonism toward the Governor.
How about his claim that there are no RINOs in the GOP - I guess he sees no problem with NE liberals such as Romney and Guiliani.
And his non-stop Palin bashing puts him in the same camp as the Beltway-addled pinheads the Tea Party fights against.
In other words, Rollins is just more of the same crap some of us have been fighting against for some time.
No surprise the Daily Caller is running with this. They're pot stirrers and don't like Palin or Bachmann.
I do hope Bachmann fires this guy. I'm sure she hired him because he's a campaign veteran, not to attack Palin. My bet is she will if this story blows up. So far no one is really reporting it other than Politico and The Daily Caller.

There are LOTS of comments that are attributed to the beltway ruling class that could be said about you or I. The fact is that Ed Rollins is NOT an “inside-the-beltway elitist”, but a street fighter. He has a blue collar history that would make the elitists vomit, including the fact that he tried to join the Marines but was rejected to to a back injury when he was an AAU boxer and THEN tried to bring the ROTC to a California college during the ‘60’s. Are you forgetting that fact that Rollins worked for Ross Perot AGAINST the RINO’s in the GHW Bush administration?
Yeah, yeah, I know. I'm a flaming liberal who wants to kill all the babies, marry all the homos, burn the flag, and raise everyone's taxes. Oh, and we should disband the military and put them to work distributing condoms in Africa, because that's just the right thing to do, and everyone will love us if we do it.

I’m not saying Ed sucks. He is good. But why start going after Palin? Should focused on Romney or Santorum. Declared candidates.
Ed Rollins and Michele Bachmann can both go take a flying leap. Sarah is a Supernova (as Michelle Malkin calls her) and these two gnats can only take cheap shots but they won’t be able to stop Sarah when all is said and done.
If you want a friend in politics, then get a dog or a cat. ;)

Bachmann has no chance at any nomination should Sarah not back her... you can take that to the bank. You may believe this Washington Post crap about romney but I do not believe anything in the slimes and post... without absolute independent verification. romney cannot win without the base... and millions of us will vote third party if he steals the nomination. Bachmann is a light weight... the continuing resolution and her handling of that issue shown that... and she is on thin ice right now. If she ignores this, then she will be on my political enemies list... and I am not alone.
