Bachmann campaign manager rips Palin: She 'has not been serious' (Ed Rollins, naturally!)
The Daily Caller ^ | June 7, 2011 | Jeff Poor

This could be some of the early shots in the contest for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination.

On Tuesday’s “Kilmeade and Friends” on the Fox News Radio network, former Huckabee campaign manager Ed Rollins, who signed up with potential presidential candidate Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann on Monday, explained why he decided to join the Bachmann camp.

“Well I’m going to work for Michele Bachmann if she runs,” Rollins said. “That’s the one that intrigues me the most at this point and I think to a certain extent she’s articulate, she’s a conservative. She’s got a great story to tell. She’s on the Intelligence Committee. You know, she’s unknown to the national audience, but she’ll become known and that’s the candidacy that I’m going to work for if she runs.”

But Rollins, with his own history of playing offense in presidential campaigns, took a few shots at former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who could be a potential rival for Bachmann.

“Sarah has not been serious over the last couple of years,” Rollins said. “She got the vice-presidential thing handed to her. She didn’t go to work in the sense of trying gain more substance. She gave up her governorship. You know, I think Michele Bachmann and others have worked hard. She has been a leader of the Tea Party, which is a very important element here. She’s an attorney, done extraordinary things with family values and what have you. So I think she will connect. She’s a great, great communicator and I would say in the race right [now] today, she is probably the best communicator.”

I agree, she should fire him ASAP.
The scarey thing is, Bachmann hired him in the first place.
It shows Bachmann’s poor vetting, poor judgement or her real intentions.
Not a good start.

Rollins is a POS and a bad decision for Michelle to bring him onboard.

Anyone working with Bachman will be making a HUGE mistake if they attach Palin.
They just don't get it....

Most of us would tend to have favorable opinions of both candidates, and would look very harshly on paid political hacks trying to play us off against each other. We are not enemies.
Types like Romney are the common enemy. If the paid political hacks don't get that; they are morons.

Bachman...Palin I like both of them. Rollins has always been and remains a douchebag.

Major screwup. Fatal as far as I’m concerned. No more money from me, Michele, even though you rep the district next to mine. Sounds also like she’s channeling Newt and Slick Willard. Why the propensity to kill a campaign before it’s even out of the gate?

What rock did Bachmann find this pimp of the election industry under? I thought after his disastrous performance for Christie Whitless in NJ, that he would keep his eyes open and his big fat mouth shut.

Another RINO added to Tokyo Rove, Sour Krauthammer, Dana Perugino, Sean Vanity, et al!

Do you think rollins might have tried to sign on with Palin and she turned him down? This sounds like the sour grape flavor of the week.

I agree. When I heard Bachmann hired Rollins my opinion of her declined. Ilk like Rollins and Rove were up to their eyballs getting us into this mess. These guys totally perverted politics.

Right away the fool starts attacking Palin. What I want to hear is what Bachmann believes. If I like that, then I want to hear how she will create and/or change policies to mirror those beliefs—assuming she has more than one belief.

Talk about serious pres. contender. If Bachmann persists in retaining Rollins she assumes the mantle of being the unserious pretender.

Especially when they are just regurgitating a lot of the typical left-wing/PDS attacks against Palin.

It is one thing to elaborate about policy differences. But this was a straight hack job by Rollins. Bachmann, if she wants any continuing support from the right, should toss him overboard first chance she gets. But I doubt she will.

Ed Rollins is a smart guy but he has a dumb mouth. He spouts off like this and then later is either fired or has to back track.

He did something similar when he took over Huckabee's campaign and attacked Rush Limbaugh.

The more they spew on Sarah, the more powerful she becomes.
She can pull in the money.

I think she may go for a senate seat for now.

I would guess that if Palin were to drop out (or fail to enter) the presidential race that a lot of her support would go to Michelle Bachmann (or so Ms. Bachmann calculates). So she has her proxy go after her rival early. It isn’t pretty. Politics ain’t beanbags.

As things sit we are on schedule to have Mitt Romney as the GOP nominee. He’s running ahead in Iowa and he’s got that ‘favorite son’ thing going in New England. South Carolina might be too late to derail the Romney train.

Just sayin’.

Ed Rollins is a smart guy but.....

That comment is attributed to nearly every inside-the-beltway elitist. Who is it that determines they are smart? If you look at the condition of our country under their governance, it certainly is hard to prove the "smart" claim.

Usually the republicans go with a RINO presidential candidate and tack on a conservative VP. Why not do it in reverse? Go with a conservative candidate and then tack on a RINO VP for grins? If the republicans just have to have a RINO on the ticket put them as VP. :-).

Mike Turner is a representative from Ohio, a swing state. He doesn’t really add much but does have a cool name when added to michele’s.

Bachmann - Turner overdrive

(humor alert for those serious types that did not figure it already)
