For any other candidate, raining on a presidential announcement parade would be seen as sabotage. Not former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
The 2012 presidential candidate told CNNs Piers Morgan Monday that he wasnt offended when former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin appeared in the first-in-the-nation primary state of New Hampshire on the same day he was set to formally announce his intention to seek the 2012 GOP nomination for president.
In fact, though Romney shared his plans one week in advance and Palin insisted on keeping the destination of her top-secret bus tour under wraps until the day before her New Hampshire appearance, Romney insisted that the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee really didnt ruin my day.
In a lot of respects its the best thing that could happen to me, he said on CNNs Piers Morgan Tonight.
Right now, your greatest enemy is overexposure. People get tired of seeing the same person day in and day out.
And Romney, who also sought the GOP nomination in 2008, had nothing but kind words for Palin, whos still batting around the will-she-or-wont-she question....

Romney doesn’t automatically get all the RINO, moderate and squishy independent/[demcorat masquerading as Indy] votes. Huntsman, T-Paw will also get some.
You’re likely also mistaken about the TEA PARTY vote, after Sarah Palin gets in.
What was your previous screen name before repub4ever1?
The Myth of a man isn’t even the top RINO in the race at this point. He needs to do just one more flip-flop and drop out.
Well, the frogs croaked their enthusiasm.
Herman Cain can position himself as Establishment. Conservative Establishment, not RINO, but Establishment, and can compete with Romney for people who respect his Establishment Credentials. You have him in “conservative”, but if you go “tea party” vs “establishment” you can put him in there.
Establishment is a bigger group than Rino.
Bachmann and Paul and Cain (who also can do establishment) are the only tea party candidates running.
Whether you want to define Paul as a Libertarian or a Conservative, he sounds a lot more like tea party than establishment. He raised over $1 Million yesterday.
If Conservative Republicans don’t want Limited Constitutional Government, a much much smaller Federal Government, he won’t do well. It appears that the campaign is shaping up to be much better organized and people are already fired up about Ames in August.
And don’t count Newt out. Newt is Establishment, and he’s not even as hated as McCain was. He’s extremely well-known and he’s been well known for a long time and a long time ago he did something very very good for Republicans.
The most likely outcome still seems like Palin runs and wins without trying very hard. Too many people care too much about her. “Sarah Palin is riding around on a bus” beats “Romney announces” in NEW HAMPSHIRE. New Hampshire is where people supposedly like him.
Kind of, unless you believe the conspiracy theories.
The mystery is that no one had ever heard of a "Mitt" Romney, or seen a child from the Romney parents, and then one day a 14 year old, fully formed male, walked out under his own power from the American Motors Laboratories, and said, "Hi, I'm Mitt Romney, where is daddy?", there were suspicions for a while, but I haven't heard that brought up in decades.
Is he a robot? He looks like a robot, sorta, or a cyborg. A replicant? Were there any plans found, any evidence of the development process? Perhaps his skin melts at certain temperatures, and he’s concerned about the warming.
Well, I read it on the internet so it must be true.
Yep, her entrance will be the coup de grâce for the other conservatives (except maybe Cain).
There isn’t any film of Mitt himself in that regard, but when American Motors went under and was being dismantled, laboratory film did surface for a while (it was claimed), of what it’s few observers described as some form of a “humanoid assembly kit” in an early development stage, but the story faded in time since it’s purpose, or success, or failure files never surfaced, it was assumed that the research had been a costly failure and abandoned.
There is a lot of technology out there that hasn’t reached consumers, that we hear nothing about.
I haven’t played it all the way through, but she’s obviously preaching to the choir. ;-)
My choices are:
Cain
Palin
Bachmann
In any order. I like all 3.
Where did you read that in my post?
What I was trying to say is straightforward and simple point. The more conservatives get in the race, the more Romney is helped. Even the least popular conservative will drain some votes from the other conservatives in the race.
I really don’t care which conservative wins the nomination so long as he/she follows Tea Party principles closely.
If you notice, you never see Romney eat food.
This is true. I can remember a picture with him, a glove, and fudge. Perhaps this is a clue?
Remember that he was packing fudge, not eating it.
