>>>>>It's not such tough a choice. Trump is actually much more conservative than every single one of the white males currently on the list of 2012 potential candidates

You're delusional. All the lists in the world won't change the facts. Post #77 gives three good reasons in Trump's own words, why he is a liberal and why he won't get the backing of conservatives.

On top of his being a liberal, Trump's an unprincipled political neophyte. He went from Republican, to Independent, to Democrat then back to Republican again. Trump supported John Kerry for potus in 2004 and his first choice in 2008 was Hillary Clinton. Trump thought Bush43 was "evil" but Obama would make a "great" president.

Then we have Trumps recent political donations. that shows more cash going to Democrats than Republicans: 11/8/2010- $2,700-Democratic Party of Delaware;10/21/2010 -$2,400- Anthony Weiner (D);9/20/2010- $10,000 – Democratic Committee of New York City;2/18/2010 – $2,000- Anthony Weiner (D);4/7/2010 -$1,000 Charles Schumer (D);3/26/2009- $2,400 – Harry Reid (D);8/11/2009 -$2,000 – Bill Nelson (D);5/20/2009 – $2,000 -Charles Schumer(D).

Bottom line, Trump can't be trusted.

Anyone who says they're a conservative, frequents Free Republic regularly and thinks its a great conservative forum, then comes out in support of a liberal like Trump, is lying about something.

he is pro life (now)

Out of principle or out of political expediency? The difference is profound.

“Face to Face The Donald would make David “Whatever” mess his pants, LOL!”

Face to face he’d make Barack Whatever mess his pants as well - I’d give anything to see that. Man, he takes charge of interviews even better than BHO!

I’m sorry, but based on his words and stated stand on issues, I love what he’s saying. Unless and until proven otherwise, he’s right, has cajones of steel, and is a breath of fresh air.

On abortion issue Trump has evolved per his recent comments.
On universal healthcare & LIMITED gun control, even his 12 year old take makes some sense. My wife works in healthcare and it is obvious to her that people are having a very difficult time with COST of healthcare. Something needs to change. Certainly not mandated insurance as in Obamacare. But the system is not working for so many people. On gun issue, I believe in concealed carry without restriction is the best way to avoid massacres by deranged people and terrorists. However no one needs an arsenal stocked at home. That can lead to serious trouble.

“They think their elbowless front runners have a chance against our sharp elbows Liar in Chief Obama. They don’t.”

That’s what I’M talkin’ about. It’s going to take one helluva strong, gutsy, alpha male to give BHO a thrashing. I’ve been an advocate of Herman Cain and now Trump, both of whom I believe are up to the job. There are a few other good folks on our side but they’re just no match for the Slickster, Egotist, Orator in Chief.

“If you think McCain reaches “across the isle”, wait till Trump gets in there.”

I respectfully disagree, but first to your latter statement - yes, DT has an ego (which I think is needed to win a Prez race, to lead in the most powerful office on earth against our enemies, and take us back to a position of respect and strength in the world. However, DT doesn’t exhibit the pathological narcissism that many shrinks agree BHO does.

About “reaching across the aisle” as you say - big difference, if you listened to his interview. He’s right that to make necessary, sweeping changes, it will take BOTH sides working together. But unlike McCain and his ilk, DT’s not a wimpy puss and won’t knuckle under to the Dems/Libs repeatedly - he sees the duty of President to be a leader in uniting factions and bringing them to the right outcome for the country. Being a uniter (ala Reagan) is needed, and quite different from being a sell-out (as so many of our “Republican” politicians currently are).

“(West, Bachmann and Duncan Hunter)”

My opinion - West won’t run yet, he’s said he still needs to get a better understanding of many things and prove himself. Bachmann - Anderson Cooper’s made it his mission (along with the rest of the MSM) every time she speaks (in his “Keepin’ ‘em honest” segments) to point out every misstatement and erroneous comment she makes - and unfortunately, they keep mounting - with a followup night or two on it, i.e. her apology, etc. She’d also be, like Palin, very divisive on a national level. Duncan Hunter - I, too, really liked him in ‘08 but he quickly ran out of funds. Since then, several FReepers on here have cited undesirable stands he’s taken on some issues (can’t remember specifics just now).

It’s sad how shallow the public has become over the years as far as what attracts them to candidates, but that’s the reality. To beat the rock star in chief, it’s gonna take big name recognition and someone with the wow factor who can stand up to BHO’s bully style, yet be powerfully persuasive to large numbers.

Again, the facts are what they are. Call it what you like, "evolution" or conversion. Its plain old flip-flopping. Until February 2011 Trump was pro-abortion and never tried to hide it. He even sponsored a dinner for the head of the National Abortion Rights Action League. At CPAC 2011 Trump announced he was now pro-life. Pure political expediency. Trump is an unprincipled lout and a scumbag.

Trump has taken a page out of the Romney playbook. It didn't work for Romney and it won't work for TheDonald either. You can't hide your record. I'm sure Trump even got some advice from his good old friend, Rudy Giuliani, another pro-abortion, liberal Republican.

>>>>>However no one needs an arsenal stocked at home. That can lead to serious trouble.

That is the liberal POV.

Trump's support for universal health care and a single payer plan, is what Reagan called back in 1960... socialism. And its still called socialism today.

What I believe at this point is for everyone to push positives about their candidates. Then we will watch the debates and let the voters pick the nominee. FR won’t pick the nominee. In 2008, McCain was flamed here more than anyone else and still won nomination. So all that flaming actually helped the Kenyan Socialist, because some Freepers probably stayed home on election day.

Flaming any republican won’t buy you anything except help the Kenyan Socialist.

Look pal, for your information, FRee Republic is a conservative forum. It is not a Republican forum.

FR does not exist to defend or support liberals, whether they be Democrat or Republican.

That means Trump is OUT!

Then how do you explain so many pro-Trump posters here?
That tells me he is considered conservative on many issues
by many here.

The vast majority of FReepers are conservatives. Some are self-described libertarians, some are moderates and some are liberals. Some are ignorant of the facts. Some are easily hoodwinked. And some are trolls looking to cause infighting among conservatives. Being a relative newcomer to FR, you obviously don't get it. FR has been here before with Giuliani and Romney in 2008. Both were persona non grata then and both remain so today.

My guess is, the level of tolerance will be reached with the Trumpsters and like the Giuliani and Romney supporters, they too will be shown the door.

I think your seeing only what you want to see. After the Hannity interview last night, someone posted a pro-Trump thread specific to that interview. It was immediately pulled.

If you want business acumen, Mitt Romney has it to spare.

I won't vote for another America-laster bankster tool. Mittwit is one in spades.

The only thing I am looking for is to get the Socialist from Kenya out of White House. When that happens I am throwing the biggest block party.

Surrrreeee. You and the other Trumpsters have already outed yourselves.

Promoting lies about Trump doesn’t help conservatism, the GOP or the good old USA. Going from the liberal fire to the liberal frying pan would not be a victory.
