In a sign that Donald Trumps self-promotion tour and possible run for president continues to make the Republican establishment nervous, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor on Wednesday minimized the wealthy developers run because he was focusing on President Obamas birthplace.
I don't think he is really serious when we see a campaign launched on the birther issue, said Cantor (R- Va.) speaking on CNNs American Morning.
Trump has become almost a fixture on cable television shows in recent weeks as he has resurrected the issue of where the president was born. The Obama campaign long ago released documents showing Obama was born in Hawaii, but Trump has increasingly challenged that and has even said he has sent investigators to seek out details.
Trumps comments and the publicity he has drawn has played to some of the more conservative parts of the GOP electorate and his popularity has soared in recent polls of Republican voters. Trump was running second in a Wall Street Journal/NBC poll and in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Poll released Tuesday, Trump tied with former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee for first among those answering whom they would support for the GOP nomination.
Trumps rise is being viewed as a signal of the weakness of the GOP field, with about half a dozen candidates swapping the top position depending on who is doing the poll and another dozen candidates forming a second tier....

These RINOS are taking our votes for granted....they figure we will never vote for Obama, so no matter what, they have our vote.
Trump looks better every day - sad.
Mr. Cantor... please tell us what hospital little Barry was born in and the name of the delivering doctor! Then get back to us.
Can’t wait to be a part of their firing.
I dislike Eric Cantor more and more everyday!
Any Republican politician who cannot do these things is dead to me. No, they don't have to support either Trump, Palin, or Bachman for the presidency. That's optional. But attacking these three people for doing what every Republican politician should be doing, is a quick way to convince me that you're not worthy of my respect.
TRUMP, versus the seven spineless dwarfs: Palin, Bachmann, Gingrich, Pawlenty, Barbour, Romney, Huckabee.
All except Trump enable the gay Muzzie usLurper!
michael savage routinely emphasizes the following points: (1) both parties are basically the same — same old same old and (2) both parties agree to have 8 years democrat, 8 years republican (more or less). if you look at the people the republican party is promoting as being their “guy” it almost seems that perhaps they actually don’t want to win the general election. seems crazy, but that’s my impression in any case. then when you hear these clowns all basically supporting obama on the BC issue, in effect defending him AGAINST the millions who constitute the base, that may be the only reasonable conclusion, unless someone has a better reasoning...
whatever the case, i think trump is a threat not only to the democrats but also to the republican leadership.
I don't care what the Republican Establishment says, or the Constitutional attorney who broadcasts in the evening. The more days go by the more obvious it's becoming a Third Party (Tea Party) candidate may be our only hope of reclaiming our once great Country. We sure don't have much representation in the Republican Party.
You're accurate in your description of Trump. He might be a huge FAUX Conservative, but at least he's not afraid of Political Correctness, as defined by the Obama media. That is what is driving his popularity.
Governor Sarah Palin “enables” Mr. Obama? Is that why his minions attack her 24/7 or are they doing that for fun? Are you kidding?
The only “real men” left are two women. Sad.
He talks and I understand what he is saying, most people don't in the DC circles.
He doesn't say Obama wasn't born in the US but why all the trouble in answering it.
Asking a question doesn't make him a racist or nut.
People wonder and the press should wonder why the missing years in his life.
I don’t think Cantor is serious about his oath of office, given that he failed to object when Congress was counting the votes for a(n apparent) natural-born British subject to be President. F him.
The Republicant’s are in spin mode big time. The Donald has the only set of testicleseven remotely asscoiated to the Republicant party, so the feckless pubbies are doing their whine routine early.
The GOP better take another look at WHY Trump is rising in the polls. They seem to be working with the democrats trying to protect obama. If they continue to cower and some loser retread gets the nomination I will sit this one out because it won’t matter any more. They have a chance to get on board with Trump and smoke the loser right out of the White House. Instead they side with the democrats.
Cantor’s another RINO turd that needs thrown out of office.
