He may not be a Conservative by our standards and either was Reagan with his record out of being a CA Gov., but making America a strong beacon of freedom is a winning argument in my opinion.
“Trump does come with risks on social issues and 2nd Amendment”
He’s publicly said he’s pro-life, anti-gay marriage, and against gun control.
Agree with your post. Freepers need to get off the celebrity crap an start pushing the best conservative they can with an established political voting record that meets “most” of our needs. No one polidiot will meet all of our needs....not one out there now or later that can or will.
This fast food sort of selection of our polidiots is dangerous an should be avoided by anyone who votes.
Amen.
I have said as much myself.
“Anyone who denigrates Obama will more than likely receive such treatment in that type of venue.”
Those Comedy Central roasts are brutal. I saw DT on the Golf Channel and elsewhere before-hand, saying he wasn’t crazy about doing it, but it would pay him a LOT of money for charity.
I’ll be watching.
“It just seems Palin was the darling, now everybody is running to Trump”
I don’t think any Palin fans have changed their minds.
Trump was pro-choice until recently, then changed his view to pro-life. How convenient. Sounding more and more like another Romney. - Strike Two.
Trump believes we should have Universal health care. - Strike Three.
I could go on, but I hope my point is made that he is saying what is necessary to garner support from conservatives, but I don't believe his sudden “conversion” for a millisecond and his track record concerning his executive experience makes him an absolute disaster in the making, IMO.
A lack of ideological fervor also makes it more likely
that from his perch in the Oval Office he would be a
pragmatist.
Trump is not ideologically anchored. This moves his appeal
factor positively as he will carry little obligation to either
political party.
These are absolutely the most important traits a potential
President could possibly offer a wayward country such
as ours.
But a straight and narrow non political President will do
the country no good with a wayward congress. Without
doubt Trump will quickly become frustrated with the
incompetence of career politicians in congress be they
from the turnip field or cabbage patch.
You want to see this country turn on a dime?
Two possibilities:
1. Trump uses his resources to round up 435 non political
candidates to run for the House. He also rounds up 33
non political candidates to run for the Senate.
He then runs as a package deal with a slogan
Elect us all or elect none of us.
2. Trump buys into The American New Deal and uses
those people as his package with the same slogan.
That will win Trump the election and that will change
America on a dime.

We live in strange times.
I feel like those on the eve of WWII.
I have heard some will if Trump does run. But I am not so certain either Palin or Trump will run the whole course. I still wonder if someone isn’t in the shadows still and all these popular and known candidates are softening the ground before they step out. It will be an interesting year to see how this all plays along.
“Whoever ends up being the republican nominee will be ruthlessly trashed in such a manner.”
Trump did it willingly, for charity. But your point is well taken - our candidate will need a thick skin, the ability to be above it all and not feel compelled to complain about it in the media.
The big boys in corporate America do that all the time...companies close and they open another. Chatper 11 chapter 12346789 if they need to create one to get out of their mess..it's a go. And the circle goes round and round. So his bankrupties are meaningless in the eyes of those who will fund his run, they all know how that works...if he runs.
I let people learn as they go. The Donald is a reformed Conservative in my opinion. There are Beck fans all over the place here but I seem to be the only “Sick Twisted Freak” who saw his Metamorphosis. The Donald hates Universal health care. It is a job killer.
Speaking of 1979, I was affected by that personally. Yeah, Carter was “all good” on the social values, but as a President - an extreme disaster for this country, rivaled only by the present usurper in chief.
In any case, although he has not declared personal bankruptcy, the fact that he has to use such a tool in the first place for his organization(s) is a Red Flag stating to me that he is a piss poor manager when it comes right down to it. The LAST thing this country needs is such a “businessman”, IMO.
Yeah, he’s “reformed” in the same mold as Romney, and I’m not buying it for a second.
