I know the value of "winnability" for a candidate, and Jesse "the Body" should know more than any that celebrity status and "novelty" in a candidate can go a long way towards the goal. But I wonder why substance in candidates has taken a far back seat for the past several election cycles? I find this a very disturbing trend. After all, it's what gave us zerØ.

Discounting all celebrity and novelty capital, there are very few candidates who have come forward who have what it takes to be president. John Bolton and Mike Pence are two who come to mind. The others, many of who possess great qualities and potential, don't even come close. Sorry, Sarah and Michelle.

What putrid rocks have you guys been hiding under waiting for a Palin thread so you could spew your verbal diarrhea?

We took a poll here on FreeRepublic a couple months ago to see who we wanted for President. Sarah Palin won with 86% of the vote.

If you want to join the "Lie about and smear Palin and her kids" perverts over on KOS, I suggest you make the move sooner rather than later. You're in for some rough sledding here. Just a little underserved, friendly advice to a total smeg-brain.
